How exciting! Congrats! I have the 2pm slot... I've been to both Playa del Carmen and Cancun and prefer Playa as well. RPRM is definitely out because of the 80% rule -- but I'm searching around and will hopefully find another resort close by. I've definitely been snooping around the RPRM thread and that definitely made me want to have the wedding there.
  2. Thanks! I'll check it out...
  3. Hi Girls - My name is Cindy and I've been getting lot of great information from the forum so far. Thank you all for posting so much of your research and especially pictures and reviews of your weddings. I can't make it down for site visits, so this is extremely helpful! I'm planning a February 2010 wedding in Cancun/Riviera Maya (just got engaged in May and am cutting it close, I know!). I had my heart set on the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and have a reservation there for Feb. 15, but am getting a lot of push-back from my family regarding the price and requirement that 80% of guests stay at the resort, so am restarting my search. The resorts in Cancun seem a little more reasonably priced, so may head up the coast. Anyone have suggestions for a beautiful but affordable resort in Cancun or Riviera Maya? I'd prefer a European plan for guests and the resort has to be family-friendly. Thank you!!!
