  1. Ladies,

I met a bride while I was doing a site visit to the Iberostar and she mentioned that there was a list on here of all the fun drinks that the resorts has. She had put this list in the welcome books and challenged her guests to try them. Has anyone seen this list?

    Also,

I made my bridesmaids jewelry. I then made them a scrapbook from scratch with picture of us growing up together. It has been a lot of work but they are amazing. I then ordered them Lolita wine glasses with beach themes on them and flip flop attachable coasters. I am getting so excited. I can't believe it is coming up.

    Talk to you all soon!

  2. Hi Ladies,

I have my invitations out and am moving forward. I have my OOT bags made and everything that is going inside of them already bought. I suggest looking and you can find some great deals. I wanted to know what you all are doing for your bridesmaids gifts. I am making them jewelry and photo albums of us growing up but do not know if that is enough. I feel bad that they are spending money to come be with us.

I am having my bridesmaids dresses made by a friend and am stressing about that. My BMs are everywhere.

I am also struggling with flowers. I want to go tropic but just can't make up my mind how to do it. My bridesmaids colors are chocolate, taupe, and champange. Any suggestions?

    Thanks Mandee

ps. The prices have dropped quite a bit since last week. You may want to let your guests know..

    I HAVE 20 PEOPLE BOOKED!

  3. Hello ladies,

I am looking to see if there are any other Oklahoma brides on here. I just moved her from Denver and would love to set up a time for all of us to meet. I am living in Tulsa but travel the whole state and would love to just talk wedding with someone who is exicted about it as I am. Hope to hear from you soon.

    Mandee

  4. I was there in July and saw the flowers they were gorgeous. She told me that you could choose from any array of flowers but some will cost more. I know that orchids cost more. However, the arrangemet that I saw had gerber daisies, lilies, roses, and cala lilie. There were orange and pink and breath taking.

I do have sample pics of flowers around the actual wedding set up- the Arch. I have two different examples. I thought they were both very pretty. I can't really think about flowers at the dinner because I have no idea where its going to be or if it will even be private!

I will feel better once I start looking for ideas and if I can go down there with what I want , and a back up plan.

I mean how hard is it to have 1 consistent price list for the spa?? They even change WC. Lily was always great at responding, but then Mayra started responding and doesnâ€t answer really anything. The last email I received (I needed the size of the tables in the Los Vitrales room to order table runners) was from Lily, but they told me she was no longer a WC. How confusing! Also, tripadvisor & iberostar-board said the Beach and Del Mar are closed and it has been said they might not open until December. Everyone has been ugraded to the Lindo, the Lindo to the Maya, and Maya to suites or cheaper upgrades to the Grand. I don't even know if I will be at the Lindo for my wedding!! I am sorry to sound so negative, but I really needed to vent!!
I have been to the resort and they are great. I have talked to my wedding coordinators and several other coordinators are on vacation. As for the salon their is only one for all the resorts. I will tell you that the Del Mar and Beach offer a wedding package that includes all of them for a couple $100 more. I am so sorry that you are frustrated. The entire reason that we are doing this is to have less stress. Best of Luck. Vent anytime.
  6. I am getting married at the Iberostar. It is the same concept as the Barcelo just a different brand. I have found that they have few extra charges but nothing like you are describing. Our package includes my hair, pedicure, manicure, and makeup. We get a day at the spa and everything. Their spa has gotten excellent reviews on makeup and hair. Our package includes 10 people and then it is 18$ per person after. This fee is to cover the extra cake, private service, and champagne. Kids under 12 are no extra charge. I hope that you really get this figured out. I am so sorry to hear from you. I would just pick up the phone and call the general manager. I had a few questions and I called the wedding coordinator. It was not real expensive. Also, look on the website and see if you can find the email to get to the GM. The whole reason we choose to do a destination wedding is not to have the stress. I am so sorry.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I made OOT bags and did not pay more than a dollar for anything in the bag. I went to Michaels and got $1.00 flipflops. I got $1.00 beach towels at Target, order mugs from discount mugs, sanitizer from the dollar store, fans from oriental trading, and water guns. I also made my welcome books from a template that I got from this site. I am also curious regarding the tropical restaurant and what the menus are. Do you know if we have to have a pre set menu if we have a certain number of people?

SHANNON: We love beer pong too- great question!
Ok so I had the exact same question regarding the extra amount. We are paying for the cake, the champagne, the wedding set up, and the private waiter service. Good luck. They also do not give you anything having more rooms booked.
  9. That is a great idea. I thought about buying a photo album with the cardstock paper in them. I would then put a different colored cardstock page in the middle so that people do not write on it. I want them to sign the book and write a message. Then I will have my friend Ann there to take a picture on a digital camera. I am then going to print the pics and put them in the album on the page they signed. This will help me create a memory

If I could do it over again, I would go w/ the vanilla...although I have read reviews that said the cheesecake was great too :)
Thank you mxbride789. I would like to see if I could get all three on different layers. My wedding group just keeps growing. I just had 8 people RSVP yes that I was not expecting to come. There are over 50 of us now. The more the merrier.
