  1. for all of you getting a Dj off site, make sure that you let your wedding coordinator know.. they weren't going to let me use DJ bob at one point cause they are trying to go towards no outside vendors.

What's the word?! lol Thanks ladies Yes you can still eat at all the hotels, but you dont have the choice to go anywhere for your wedding. I got married at Akumal and we had to pick a restaurant at Akumal for our wedding dinner. As for the dress.... I flew with air transat and they do have garmet bag dimensions, but when I flew they didnt measure. They told me that they do not have closets, I had to put my dress in the overhead compartment, but it ended up being fine. It also says on their website that they do not have closets and gives you the dimensions. The dimensions are small, so i just a regular garmet bag that you can fold in half.
  3. by the way.. i dont know if you can use an ipod, you will have to ask. I put them on a cd
  4. I used Sunshine on my shoulders by Carly Rae Jepsen for my bridesmaids, Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’le (a lot of brides used it, its soooo good tho) and after we played Better together by Jack Johnson

They used a bar by the pool for us, so even though we bought the least expensive package, they still made us different drinks cause they had the booze there. Dont spend money on the other packages. There are other bars close too!

I brought 4 songs.. but they only played three.. 1 for my bridesmaids, 1 for me and one when we were finished.

I want my hair half up, and curled. I guess, I just need them to know that my hair is naturally curly, and goes frizzy really easy!! lol I'm going over to one of my bridesmaids house next week, to play around with it.. Hopeing for the best!! I totally trust her, so I think that might be the best bet!! Good thing my sister in law is a make up artist!!! haha Don't get completely set on how your hair is going to be.. I did.. then the day of the wedding it was soooo windy so i couldn't do it how i wanted to do it.
  8. I put my dress in the overhead compartment and thought that I would need to get it steamed, but from all the humidity in mexico i didn't even need to get it done.

  10. No i was one of the lucky ones that had Claudia booked before they changed the policy and fought to keep her when they weren't going to let us. However, the resort photographers complete photo sessions everyday on the beach with couples and walk around with various animals that you can take pictures with. I saw their work and one of the couples that came to our wedding had a photo session done, and they were very happy with the quality of photos.
  11. Just got back from my wedding and honeymoon. I got married on Feb.4th at Akumal. I have to say Eugenia did an incredible job. There is not one thing that i would have changed. I was married on the beach, went to Dolce Vita for dinner and then had a pool side reception. The whole day was stress free and absolutely beautiful. If anyone has any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them
  12. I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind telling me what they tipped their wedding coordinator? and did you tip photography, or dj ect?

  14. Yeahhh!! i just received an email from the resort saying that they understand my situation and will let me use Claudia!!! way to go girls!!! its cause we kept fighting for it... I'm sooo happy!!! Check your emails

I am not sure why they are telling you to contact Claudia unless you were already booked with her previously - but I do know Conrado is not there. The new photo studio is in replacement of him. So maybe email her back and ask if you were sent an old form letter in error? Just to try save yourself some hassles..... Yeah they sent me this when I booked my wedding in April. So I'm using this as part of my argument that I should still be allowed to use Claudia, since they had her website on their form, and so I booked her, so i should be allowed to keep her. Until the resort superiors finally send us emails confirming, I'm trying to find anything I can so I can still use her. This is just another thing I have that shows that when we booked a long time ago, they were accepting outside vendors.
  16. I sent an email to the resort today regarding the photo problem. Did any other brides fill out the form that the wedding coordinators sent out regarding information about our weddings. On the form under photography it said 12.Photos and Video for your wedding, have a look at the following pages, choose one and get directly in contact with them via their web page vPhotographer in riviera maya, tulum, playa del carmen and cancun: Conrado Gonzalez Photographer vClaudia Rodriguez wedding photography vMexican Wedding Photos & Videos | Wedding photographers and the link went right to claudia's website. I'm trying this angle because they can't suggest her then later on tell us that we can't use her.
  17. Yesterday when I found out about the new wedding coordinator I emailed Eugenia to fill her in, and she already knew everything. She had read all the emails. She responded today, I asked more questions and she replied back today!!!

I guess I will have to wait and see after Friday! I am so impatient though! Please post whatever you find out. I haven't been able to get straight answers from the resort. I asked claudia to ask as well. I emailed them and said that if they are going to change the policy than they have to let brides know at the time of booking the date. Because everyone else hasn't had a problem until now.

Thanks for the heads up! I know, I didn't mention anything either. My wc just asked if I wanted the photographer to get a hold of me, and I told her thanks, but I already have my photographer.. so then the photographer at the resort sent me this email.. I am not sure if she told you already, but due to some change in our administration, it´s most likely that outside vendors will not be allowed at the resort in a near future. This is why it´s very important to know if you´re photographer comes from home, he/she is from the Mayan Riviera, etc etc...This, since I need to specify your situation to my boss and the administration. Could you assist me on this matters please? Thank you so much for your assistance. Receive my best wishes! Roser PlaWedding Photo ConsltantArrecife StudioRiviera Maya, Mexico So i have emailed my WC and him about my photographer and told them that I have already paid for the deposits, and have proof. I will also let you know when I get responses. Thanks!!! To answer the questions about the legal marriage.. That is also the information I was provided. AND I was also told that the wedding couple, and the 4 witnesses have to be there 4 business days before the wedding
  21. FYI.. my wedding coordinator had the photographer from the resort email me and tell me that soon they may not be letting outside vendors in... So i'm freaking out.. he asked who the photographer is ect.. so he can talk to his boss.. I do not want to loose my deposit, or if he decides that I can have my photographer but go there in feb and have them change their mind.. starting to stress. I have also put my deposit down for DJ bob... I'll let everyone know what I find out... for those of you who are getting married in the upcoming months
  22. does anyone know if we have to pay for a day pass for photographer, hairstylist and DJ? And how much it is? I'm pretty sure that we have to for the photographer and DJ, but I wasn't sure if I had to for someone who just comes to the room to do my hair. Thanks, Courtney
  23. I noticed that some of you who are getting closer to the date recieved a timeline so you could make up a wedding program. I was wondering if you can send me what the wedding coordinator provided you with, so i can start planning what I will be putting together. [email protected]
