If you are there before the sun goes down - there is a cool bar across the street on the second floor. The options are endless ... Have fuN! Sanibel is beautiful too!! I've heard of Lani Kai, but can't picture it! So the bars are pretty close together then, right? We are getting married on a Wednesday, at sunset, so Im hoping some of the bars will havea nightlife on a Wednesday. We wanted the middle of the week so people could make it a vacation & do what they wanted the beginning half of the week & then they could relax the rest of the week after we got married. What do you think? AND i'm hoping we JUST MISS spring break....hopefully...? haha

I wish there was a map of bars that I could pull up that showed all of them on ft myers beach.

That was what we aimed for at first, but wasnt in the budget We are getting married in Fort Myers Beach now We'll be getting married on the Light house point beach...I believe thats what it's called. We're in the middle of planning which beach we'll use at the moment. I am also on a very tight budget & wanted to keep things small & simple. I found a company called Florida Weddings, Beach Ceremonies, Wedding Officiants, Sunset Calender. Susan is VERY nice, listens to what you want, & will make a personalized quota for you. Its VERY afforable. I've read a lot of reviews about their company so they seem reputable & good. They are flexible with their packages & do what you want. What company are you using for your wedding? Have you got everything planned & ready to go?
  4. My fiance & I will be getting married on Sanibel Island April 2010. Afterwards, we want to go bar hopping with the family & friends on Ft Myers beach. I plan on going bar to bar down the beach. Anyone know of a good place where to start? I'd like it so we can walk from point A to point B. I'm not too familiar with Ft Myers beach but I've heard its the perfect place to bar hop. Thanks!
  5. I am having a destination wedding in Siesta Key. But I don't know if it is cheaper to do an all inclusive wedding package for the ceremony that some companies have or find a wedding planner & do it all seperately. My budge is approx $6,000 for the ceremony + reception with approx 30-35 people. I know it is very do-able but I'd love to keep it way under $6,000 if possible. Also, I was thinking of having a simple reception at the Beachhouse I believe in Sarasota/bradenton beach (one of those areas), but I didnt know if anyone else knows of another place. Appetizers/drinks is all we need ) Nothing too fantsy. And anyone know of a decent hotel in Siesta Key or close to the area. I've been doing lots of research but I feel like I've been in circles! We are also trying to plan a honeymoon out of those too....oooh boy!
  6. Hi!! I am in the same boat as you right now!!!! My whole family is renting a beach house April 17-24th on Ft. Myers beach on Estero Drive. So my fiance & I are thinking either ft. myer beach wedding or I have been trying to find places in captiva/sannibel island OR one of my family members recommened siesta key which is gorgeous & they know some bars that you can rent out their pavilion or something. I am also planning for approx 30 people. I want it small/simple. I was going to try to find a company that can marry us on the beach then we can rent a pavilion somewhere & do food....I would love open bar, but i'm not going to fork out that money. We will probably do open bar back home for all the people who wouldn't be able to make it...probably would do a small brunch thing. I am just having a hard time....hotels are expensive!!
  7. Thank you everyone! )

Socond - Any good websites/trusting companies for a destination wedding? I have done quite a bit of research but all the info starts becoming blurry! There is so much! For a mini get together/reception, my fiance & I are thinking about renting out a bar's pavilion or something as a chill/laid back get together with appetizers.
