Honestly I haven't decided where I will put it... but most likey somewhere main. I want people to see it. Actually though #1 would be great for the bedroom I may have to do 2 or 3. I was considering one big one and 3 smaller ones to frame it... Its funny though all photographers I've asked seem to go with #8... I guess cuz its a hard shot to get.

  4. We honeymooned there are it is definitely somewhere we would go back to with kids if/when we have them. This resort is targeted towards families for sure. There is even a kids zone in the buffet. Kids movie night, a play zone, even a kids over night camp out night. Though they also have an adults only restaurant so you can choose to have an adult evening if you wish...

  5. We picked the resort based on Price for the guests also, but first we picked the country DR because that is one of "our" spots. We try to travel once a year and Cuba and DR are special to us. We picked DR over Cuba for the time of year, DR typically has slightly better weather in Jan.

  6. I also had a good friend who wasn't in the wedding party in charge of the reception location. She went an hour or so b4 the reception was to start to set up some things and make sure everything was on time. Make sure to utilize the coordinator when things are as they should be she will keep everything straight, even during the week. The only thing that was late as I said was our room service for lunch, but as soon as we called the coordinator it was there in 5 mins!

  7. Thanks Everyone I am very happy with them!! I can't wait to see the rest!!

And as for his hair I LOVE it too... Thanks. You have no idea how long, and the complaining I had to endure to get him to grow it like this. He usually keeps it army short. And he actually has to style it daily like this... He thinks its the end of the world... lol But its after the wedding and he still has it!! for now at least. I wonder how long I can make him keep it...
  8. This is actually where I go every September with a crew for the Ezze Wear photo shoot. Its a Great resort, we keep going back. That being said I don't want t o misrepresent the resort, it is a little older and the rooms could use a little updating, (they were actually starting this last in Sept) The beach is Beautiful though a little narrow, especially when the tide is high. But I still think it is my favorite beach! They just added 2 new restaurants and they are really nice. The food is good nothing, and the buffet always has 4 stations where they are cooking fresh food (pasta, stir fry, fish, chicken ... etc) Here are a few photos of some of my trips... PM me if you have any other questions...

  9. I was really concerned about getting it home also. I had planned on just carrying it on my carry on. On the day of the wedding though things were so busy that we ended up forgetting all about it and didn't remember till the next day. The wedding coordinator ended up packing it neatly away for me. Nice of her, however in the process it got mixed up... =( We just ended up re doing it when we got home! no one will ever know and now my girl friend who couldn't attend feel like she got to be a part of our day, as she was there when we re did it!!!

I'm in on this marathon also! Except on the 26th... I can't wait!
  11. Things that were used:

•The bag itself (cotton; plain black) everyone even the guys used it!

•The cups... they were HUGE hits. People in the resort kept coming up to our party asking where we got them, they wanted one too!!

•Mini first aid kits... not everyone used them, but those who needed them were really appreciative of them

•Deck of cards... again not everyone used them, but we did have a tournament on more then one night.

    Favors at the reception...

•Pashminas... ALL the girls LOVED them and used them a lot!!

In Dominican Everything runs late!!! That being said my girls were on top or things and everything ran smoothly and on time!! Except out room service that was an hour late. But we ordered it early knowing this was the case so we were ok. They did a good job of keeping me unauare... I know there was concerns about the set up running late though, and that they had to make a few calls to ensure everythig was on time.

We also had Pastor York, and I would pay it again in a second. It seems like a lot of money but the service the wedding coordinator would give you is really short (5-10min) and in broken English... Pastor York did a great service and you can tweak it to your expectations. I had comments that it was one of the best services my guests had been to. Needless to say I think he is defiantly worth the money. Also my MIL and family really appreciated having a pastor do the ceremony as they are a little religious. PM me if you have any other questions.

Also, he just did the ceremony and left I barely saw him as things got busy (as you can imagine) so we did not have to get a day pass for him. If he stays as a guest and eats etc then you would have to get him a day pass.
  14. I got married at Sirenis Tropical Punta Cana On January 5th, 2010. We picked a smaller resort, and downgraded to a 4 star so it would be cheaper and we could have more guests attend. Because of this we knew our service/rooms etc may be a little lower. That being said here is my experience.

FLIGHT: We flew out of Toronto with Air Transit (NoliTours) and had no problems. I brought a lot of my wedding decor with me (I had 4 bags to check and 3 carry on) but with the large group (45) we were able to get it all checked and not have to pay. On the way there we were upgraded to first class, which was nice and unexpected!

CHECK IN: We were greeted with drinks and a friendly attitude, but things quickly turned. The check in was very unorganized and a lot of the rooms werenâ€t ready yet. My FI and I were the last to get our room after a 4 hour wait, then the room wasnâ€t the one we paid for, and wasnâ€t cleaned when we got there. The bell boy saw my stress and immediately got me a bottle of champagne to pop while we waited and we ended up getting it cleaned and stayed there for the night, while I went up to the front to complain. They took me right in to see the manager and wedding coordinator and once they realized who I was and that we were a big group they did whatever they could to compensate. We ended up getting upgraded to a honeymoon suit for the entire week for all our stress.

ROOM: After we finally got into the Suit the room was really nice. It had a sitting area, balcony, big Jacuzzi tub, etc. It was worth the hassle to stay here the full week. (The suits are usually only upgraded for the night of the wedding, unless you pay)

RESORT: the resort itself is Nice. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Pool was big so much fun. The Food was good, we ate at most of the restaurants and they were all good. The buffet was ok, just keep to the fresh stuff and no complaints.

WEDDING COORDINATOR: My wedding coordinator was Olga. She was great. I met with her the day before the wedding and she made it all happen! Whenever we had any issues we just brought them to her attention and they were solved in minutes. My day went off without a hitch

WEDDING: I had my symbolic ceremony on the beach at 3pm with Pastor Rick York. The ceremony itself lasted about 20 - 30 minutes. It was perfect and romantic and even my FI cried. It was just what we wanted. If anyone is considering using Pastor York I would definitely recommend him. Once the ceremony was over, we all had champagne and appetizers on the beach, then went and took family and group shots on the beach, and finally finished with the wedding party and then just us. And Florian was videoing the entire time…

PHOTOGRAPHER: Phil and Mike Steingard were my photographers and they were Amazing. ( Phil Steingard Studios Caribbean )They arrived at 9:30am and stayed till 11pm, after we jumped into the pool. I would highly recommend Phil and/or Mike to anyone having a Destination wedding. They do a lot in DR, Mexico, and Cuba. Their prices are good, and pictures are outstanding! Iâ€ll post some when I get them all back. We also did a TTD shoot the following week.

VIDEOGRAPHER: I used Florian Koetter, Video Punta Cana, for my video. ( Video Punta Cana ) He arrived at 9:30am and stayed till 11pm. He got from the Boys and girls getting ready to the ceremony and the reception. The video was really well put together with music and a personalized cover. If there is any one considering using him I would highly recommend him. We were going to use the resort initially and I am really glad we changed our mind… he did a much better job!!

RECEPTION: We had a private reception in the Italian Restaurant. Dinner was good and the restaurant was perfect. We paid for a DJ through the resort to play music and he did a great job also.

After our week at Sirenis we went over to Dreams Punta Cana for week 2, our Honeymoon. Dreams was spectacular and we would go back here in a second. Food was GREAT, and hotel was clean and gardens beautiful. In comparison you can definitely see the difference in the 2 hotels, mostly the food, but I am glad we went with the smaller hotel for our wedding as we would have has a lot less people at Dreams due to cost difference. The attendees were an important part or our decision. All in all our wedding was perfect and Everyone had a great time!
