  1. Thanks for the recommendations! I'll look into them.
  2. Hello CR brides, I am considering having a symbolic ceremony for my wedding in the Arenal area of CR in the Fall, I was wondering if anyone can recommend their officiant and what the costs are for a symbolic wedding vs official legal wedding? Since I am not going with a wedding coordinator, I find it hard to locate vendors. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Hello, Thank you for starting this post binzer. It's nice to know that there are other costa rica brides. I just booked my wedding at the Springs Resort and Spa for November. The Springs Resort & Spa - Arenal, Costa Rica I recognize that November is the tailend of wet season, but has anyone been there during this period? I was ok with it until our guests pointed out to us that it's hurricane season, but I've done my reading and because CR is so far south from the Carribean that it's very rare for a hurricane to hit CR. Does anyone have any feedback on this? Also, binzer, have you received photography quotes yet? I'm starting to look for a photographer for our wedding and wondering what the going cost is for CR. I look forward to sharing information and ideas with CR brides!
  4. Hi everyone, I'm new to this and am considering Ocean Turquesa for our destination wedding. Sounds like a great resort and very reasonably priced! Kaycee - Congrats on your wedding! I'm looking forward to hearing more about it. Can someone email me the wedding package? I would really appreciate it. My email address is [email protected]. Also, if you stay at one resort, can you migrate to the other resorts in the H10 chains? If I am right, the Ocean Turquesa, Ocean Coral and Ocean Maya are joined? What was the demographic like? I read that it's not much of a party place for young singles, and entertainment is not so great. It may have changed. Any comments Kaycee? Looking forward to hearing more about this resort!

  6. beachbride2009 - thank you for the heads up. So my TA said she was advised we should get everyone in our group to book now before the time deadline on the rate quote I got runs out or we could be quoted new rates upwards of $300 more per person! Just thought I'd warn anyone out there that could be in the same boat as me. I'm lucky enough to have a 3 week deadline so I have time to get after my guests! Good news is apparently Signature is doing their "Price Guarantee" again for the winter season...this is a big reason why I wanted to book with Signature...for my departure in November, if on September 15th the prices have dropped to below what my group rates are, Signature will do a one-time price match and match the lowest rates for my entire group! This is so handy with getting people to book early...you can explain to them that they won't get shafted by sales later on!

Nikki07 - I am booking through the Wedding Holiday. I am also looking to have our wedding during the first week of November. I guess it was more than I expected our guest to pay that was why I was concerned. To everyone who has gotten married already - how much would you say I should budget for the actual wedding? I just realized they took away the free wedding on their wedsite! It's really unfortunate.
  8. Hi everyone! I have finally narrowed down my selection for my destination wedding to the Azul Sensatori... despite the minor glitches, sounds like there have been great reviews. I have a question with regards to price. I am from Toronto, Canada and planning to have my wedding during the first week of November 2009. I was quoted $1800 per person taxes included for a week - does this sound reasonable? Is this what I should expect for this resort? I was told that new pricing just came in and it will be over $2K after this week. Should I continue researching for a better price? Any insight from past brides or TA, that would be great. I hope to finalize my venue by Friday... so excited! t.

Everyone has been great on this forum, so many warm welcomes. I'm looking forward to planning. I'm leaning towards the Mayan Riviera since the location allows for excursions to the ruins and better beaches for swimming for those of my guest who are not resort people. I love Cabo, it looks so beautiful, but unfortunately it doesn't look look like many beaches are swimmable - am I correct? Has anyone been to or heard about NH Riviera Maya? My top choices at this moment are the Paradisus and Azul Sensatori - still waiting on quotes for these locations. I'm going to post again in the Mexico forum sections... t.

  11. Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! It is definitely nice to know that I'm not alone in this planning process and that there are lots of people willing to give advice! I will post again soon, just at work right now.
  12. Hi, My name is Trish, I just recently started my destination wedding planning hopefully for November 2009. Still trying to narrow down the venue either Cabo or Mayan Riviera. Not sure as both locations are very beautiful. Looking forward to using this forum and getting all of your feedback. T.
