Hey girl. I would invite more people to your shower then to your actual wedding. I would think you would want the people you are really close to be there for both, and then the people you are just friends with to be at the reception. As for the registry, I am with you on that. My fiance and I have everything we need, I can go get whatever I want when I want it. I like the idea of donating to charity. I would just send out a note to your guests asking for donations to a charity instead of a wedding gift. You still may get a few gifts, but it won't be as many.
