  1. Hello Ladies! I am down to the last few days before I head to Jamaica for my wedding on June 27th. Any Suggestions?? Did you carry dress on plane? I am packing a bunch of silk rose petals and flowers...did anyone have any problems with items like this on the plane? DId anyone hear the saxophonist while there?

You know I have a question for you...I asked Jascynthia about having a light reception right after the wedding (we are at the gazebo) and she told me this was not possible. But it sounds like you were able to do this Cocktail Party: "we decided to have an appetizer/cocktail party between the ceremony and dinner. We chose to do it at the gazebo on the cliff…great location! We hired the steel band. It was tones of fun! We also wanted a big bucket of red stripe, so Jacynthia arranged that for us as well, the cost was $100 for that (the red stripe that is). Cost of the reception was $15 per person (min. 25 people)." Please give me a little more info...did they set up tables at the gazebo? Also, Petals I am so happy for you and glad to hear that all went well. I am still torn between the dj, steel band, or the saxophonist. I have reserved the Posideon for a private reception and the dj..but i think we are going to go for the ipod and have the saxophonist play at the ceremony. Did anyone hear the saxophonist while there?
  3. Dana, I have accepted that I am stuck with the photographer that the resort provides I am still vet nervous about that). I am planning to make some type of contact with him before the ceremony, I am hoping I can send him some samples of pictures/styles that I like. So we will see. I will be there until the beginning of July...so I will get to see your ceremony.
  4. Hello Grand Palladium Brides, My name is Allissen and I am getting married June 27th. My wedding is at sunset and I was able to rent the Posiedon for a private reception and I have reserved the DJ with Jascynthia. I saw a question about renting the Posiedon. The menu does not look all that great and I heard that the food is not very good. Thanks snowangels all of your information was very helpful.
  5. Thanks Petals, Snow Angels, and Turk The Poseidon looks long, but not very wide. I cannot picture how the dj and tables will be set up in this location. We have about 50 guest, so I hope this area will work. Did the resort decorate the guest tables as well at the reception? Are the flowers just for the wedding parties table? How is everyone getting around using the resorts photographer? I scheduled a 'sunset' wedding and we are not scheduled to start until 5:30 or 6. So, much has changed since I reserved my date...but I hope Jascynthia would have told me if they changed the latest time to 4pm. Did anyone use the saxophonist? Thank you for the pictires
  6. Also Snow Angels...any suggestions on the reception area. The florist seems to be pretty expensive. Did you take a lot of items or did you have the florist decorate your areas?
  7. Snow Angels, I am soo happy for you. Thank You so very much for all your information. It has truly eased some of my worries. I am getting married June 27th and I wanted the Blue Lagoon, but it was already reserved. So, Jascynthia placed us in th ePosiedon. I am glad to hear that it is beautiful. Is there anyway you can send me pictures of teh inside. I can only find a few on the internet and they do not show the inside. Trying to visualize the reception and it is hard without knowing what the inside looks like. Is there anyway you can take a picture of the beach wedding location at Sunset. Thank You, Panda

  9. Hello Ladies...all of your information has been very helpful. Jalong: I finally got an answer on having a private location for my reception. Management has agreed to let me have the Posideon on the Beach. I will have the DJ/dancing and dinner in there. I cannot find any clear pictures of the Posideon...do you think this is a good location? I have picked the Tropical package, so I am looking at an additional $30.00 per person and I have about 40 people attending. Do you think the Posideon will make a good location for 50 people? For your reception did they include the flowers on the wedding table for no extra charge? The florist is very expensive...so I think I will be bringing my own table decorations. During the actual wedding ceremony...did you walk down to music on a cd? I am going with the DJ for the reception ...but I am trying to picture the music for the walk down the aisle. Anyone with any suggestions?
  10. Thank you for all your input. Jalong: You know I asked if we could be set up outside, and the answer was no a few weeks ago...so much is changing, maybe that part will as well. Ahh, it sounds like your wedding turned out really nice. I think I will be bringing my own candles. I really wanted the Blue Lagoon, but it is gone. Jascynthia stated that they may be able to give me a private location; I just have to wait until it gets closer to the date. So, I think we are leaning more towards the DJ. So, when you rented out the Blue Lagoon...they did decorate it for no extra charge? It is very hard to pull infro from Jascynthia...so, thank you. I am getting excited.   11. SO how was your experience overall? Which photographer did you use? Did you have a private area for your reception? Where did the dj play?
  12. Hello ladies. My wedding is booked for June 27th at Sunset. I have spoken to Jascynthia several times and she is pretty good at emailing me back. I have also had to talk to management about some of the price changes and their policies. I wanted a private reception at the blug lagoon, but it was already booked. Tried for another private area, and it was also booked. And at the moment, they could not offer me another private location. It seems like if you schedule 4 weddings only for the day...it seems like you would have 4 private reception areas available. But I guess not. Jascynthia is in the process of trying to finding me a private area...so we will see how that will go. She did offer me the disco...we can eat at the posideon and then head over to the disco area and she could make that private until the disco opens at 11. But to rent the disco area is $600.00. I was doing all kind of research trying to find a photographer and I found out just a few days ago that we cannot use another photographer besides the one the resort is in contract with. I checked out the photographer's website and I was not very impressed. So, that was a little upsetting. Has anyone spoke to the florist for additional flowers? I am having my wedding at sunset; so I wanted the aisle lined with candles...they want to charge me 55 per candle...crazy! I am scared to ask them prices for decorating the table. Can anyone tell me more about the reception? Do they decorate the area?

  14. Thanks soo much Petals, I am also a Grand Palladium Bride and we are scheduled for June 27, 2009 for an evening wedding. You answered a ton of my questions and the pictures are very helpful. Have you checked into any florist or did you get to see how they will decorate the location for the wedding? Well, congrats to you...and I hope you will not get tired of me Charmaine is helpful, but hard to reach sometimes.

    I was browsing the internet trying to find as much info as I could about the resort where I am having my destination wedding...and I came across this site and found other brides that are having their wedding at the same resort.
