Most photographers are approved except for Del Sol. However if you choose a different photographer other then the four that are listed on the Lomas site you will have to pay either a $500 fee or a 3 night stay a the hotel. -
FYI: do not book with any photographer without first checking with Fabio that they will not be charged an outside vendor fee, and keep all emails.

There is also a wedding 1 hour before mine. I hope she doesn't use the beach for her ceremony though (keeping fingers crossed).

You should pick the photographer you like and ask them for their packages seperately so you can see what they offer. Then once you make a decision you should book it through Fabio so you don't have to pay and outside vendor fee. We are using Claudia's for video and we made all the arrangements through her but had Fabio do the booking for us.Quote:

DJ-I have received a copy of the playlist. How do I make my selection of songs and get it to the DJ prior to the wedding? How many songs should I choose to last throughout the reception? Fabio said that if we want someone to MC the event then we should hire a seperate MC for $850. He said the DJ's are very good as DJ's and they do have a pretty comprehensive song list. Plus if you want any additional songs you could provide them either with Ipod or possibly by sending MP3's (I'm going to ask that question at the site visit). We are going to hire a DJ and and MC so it feels like a regular wedding. I think that if we were getting married at home we would be spending more than $2000 for music anyway. -
What I was planning on doing is getting 1 day shipping and shipping it out the day before we left, therefore even if it comes a couple of days late it will still be before the wedding.

If anyone has booked with Claudia pictures or her husband for videography directly you should forward Fabio or Tiffany the price list that she or Mike gave you so he can make sure that they are the same prices that Lomas charges and he should tell you in an email that there will not be an outside broker fee. I did that and he said that we can use them and not have to pay an outside broker fee.

I think that the first couple of months of any resort opening will have some kinks to work out. Plumbing seemed to be the major problem through out all the bad reviews and I'm sure they will work it out because Azul Beach is just down the road and they seem to be working fine. I'm sure they both use the same plumbing systems. All the reviews however emphasized how amazing the food and service were and that's really important. I'm hoping that all the palm trees are fully grown in by May, because right now a lot of them look naked.

I love LJ, last year I watched Cashmir Mafia and they cancelled that too. There are so few good chick shows on TV these days. Big Shots was really good too. Atleast I still have my "Dirty Sexy Money"

I just got this responce from Fabio after he had a pretty quick turnaround time to one of my emails:

I guess they are reading and listening.

The vendor policy is sneaky and I'll probably work up the numbers, but I also have sent them an email string I kept to and from Nancy about reserving them through Lomas. I also mentioned that it illustrated how poorly Nancy communicated and that a lot of assuming had to be done after receiving answers from her. -
After speaking with Fabio today he said each reception location has a # of guests requirements and if the wedding does not fall within the requirement you cannot use the reception place, you can only choose places that you have the right amount of people for.
He also said we have send him our complete list ceremony and reception choices and other preferences 90 days prior to the wedding, then 60 days prior we provide the final list with any changes and 30 days prior the final payment is due. We can send him our preferences now but we cannot make a final request until 90 days prior. He will not be able to lock anything down for us before that. That goes for anything, flowers, DJ, locations, canopies, etc.

Is anyone using the videographer from Claudia's photo (it's her husbands company)? We booked him for our date but he didnt require a deposit or a contract, I'm wondering if this is common practice for them and I'm supposed to contact Lomas to figure all that out.

He has different prices depending on what you want. His packages are very customizeable. So you should email him to get a good idea of what he charges. He is traveling from Monterrey so travel arrangements and costs would have to be negotiated as well.Quote:

I am working with destinationweddings.com and i am holding 39 rooms at a discount rate. however it is only for 7 or 4 night stays. if someone wants to go for a 3 nights they have to pay much more, thats why some guests are booking with other vendors that are offering better rates, and my TA won't link them up with my group. oh well. ill see if the hotel can accomodate me.Quote:

How did you get the number for Lomas Travel? I have asked Fabio a few times if I can contact them to discuss various details and he said that I shouldnt and I just make all my requests through him (even though it takes him weeks to reply)
