  1. I struggled for the longest time trying to find the right jewelry for a beach wedding. Everything in the stores felt too formal. I was looking for some combination of blue topaz for my something blue, pearls and crystals. I finally found a jewelry designer who made some custom earrings for me. I absolutely loved the earrings that she designed.... if anyone is looking for earrings let me know and I can share her contact information

  2. Thanks. I used the trifold brochure from vista print. You can download the template from their site and design it in powerpoint. I can't remember who I borrowed the ideas from- Morgan maybe? They were pretty cheap to print. For the luggage tags, I order the badge holders from amazon and got free business cards from vista print- I put a picture on the front and name/address info on the back. You could also save the brochure as a PDF and email it to your guests. I included a welcome note, itinerary for the week, transportation from the airport, packing list, weather, general info on activities and reminders to RSVP on our website for any group events they wanted to sign up for. Here are a few more pics.

  3. My bridesmaids got a few extras including a monogrammed robe, sequin flip flops from old navy and a bunch of makeup, lipgloss and nail polish from e.l.f.(everything is only $1 and it's great makeup).

The kids got their own bags. I forgot to take pictures, but they were super cute pink and orange terry cloth bags with a matching beach towel. I got them on clearance at Land's End. I made a kids activity book, a few stickers, toys, beach balls and also a flower girl shirt (target tshirt with an ironon decal):

We also did rash guards for our bridal party. We bought them online pretty cheap and then added ironons with Cabo2009. Everyone used these at the beach days and snorkel trip.

Instead of wedding books in everyone's bags, we made little picture books using the Mac and put one in each rental villa. we included sections on who's who, timelines, maps, common spanish phrases, etc. So much easier and faster than printing:

For the ceremony, the decor was very simple. Most everything was DIY. I made votive candle placeholders using vellum paper from Michaels and centerpieces were various size vases with white marbles, floating orchids and floating candles (all from Michaels).

We also order custom painted maracas in our wedding colors for favors. I tied them to the backs of the chairs using ribbon:

and last, the dress. This is tricky because i found out that i was pregnant after we booked everything. I did a TTD shoot at our site visit when I was only 4 months along and then bought a new dress for the wedding (81/2 months along):

  5. Ok, I realize that this is a bit late seeing as how I just got back from my wedding, but I thought I would post my planning thread anyway. I borrowed so many ideas from the forum that I thought I would return the favor in case this helps anyone.

Our ceremony site was the beach in front of Pitahayas restaurant with the reception at a private villa nearby.

For our OOT bags I ordered jelly totes from ebay. They were only $1 each and waterproof and everyone seemed to like them. Inside each were beach towels, chapstick, aloe, sunscreen, suduko puzzles, first aid kits, crystal lights, flashlights, pashminas for the women, postcards, photoshare card.

  8. Does anyone have a simple Cabo logo? We ordered rashguard shirts to go in our OOT bags for our bridal party. I wanted to do an iron-on to personalize it- didn't want to use our wedding monogram, because I want them to be used again! I was looking for something simple like the words Cabo with a surfer, or wave or the arch landscape, etc. Thanks!

Does anyone have any feedback on how they did their maps? We are trying to label the places where our welcome reception, ceremony, reception, etc will be. I have a map from the resort but wanted to see if anyone has other ways they did it.
    Thanks!

I made maps using Google Earth because we are spread out across several villas and hotels. I also stole a few from the cabo visitors website.

  11. Thanks for all the nice comments! Yes, our official date is in April. After we booked the wedding and made all of our deposits, we found out that we have a little one on the way. We're thrilled, but obviously the timing wasn't ideal. I decided to have our wedding photos taken during our site visit because I'll be eight months pregnant at the wedding (I'm about 4 months along in these photos) - not exactly every girls dream on her wedding day:). If anyone is looking for a photographer in Cabo, I can't say enough nice things about Manuel Berguoin.
