  1. We are doing the exact same thing for our honeymoon. Our travel agent arranged for us to ride the bus back to the airport with our guests, which is included in our package anyways and then catching the free shuttle to Couples Negril from the airport. You could check into doing this. It will be a long day, but we also like that we're able to see all of our guests off.

  2. I have a question for those who did the dinner at Mammee Bay. I am thinking of doing a long runner across the table and then decorating with candles, sand, shells, and starfish instead of centerpieces since it all one table. I have 26 people total, is there anyway to find out the dimensions of the table so that the runner fits well?? Also, do they provide you with white table cloths or do I need to bring one? For those who have been there, do you think this will be too much and make the table too cluttered?? If anyone has pics of the table and how they decorated, they would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  3. I didn't start to get really excited until our trip was all booked! How far are you in your planning process?? Maybe your just overwhelmed right now?? It will get better!

  4. Dez,

Hi I just came across this thread and my heart goes out to you. Everyone is giving you really good advice and you will work through this and be just fine whether you are with him or not! Every relationship has it's issues, but if he's not willing to pull his weight and work at the issues with you, it will not work. It is so obvious that you love him, but first and foremost you need to loe yourself! His behavior is unacceptable and frankly pretty immature. I know you say he has had issues, but you can't make excuses for him disrespecting you! I say that you and your family/friends that have booked take the trip together and just have fun! I know this is all easier said than done, but you will figure out what is best for you in your heart. I am sorry and you are in my thougts!smile03.gif

  5. My FI and I went shopping today to look at outfits for him and his groomsmen. We are looking to just get casual linen drawstring pants and a white line short sleeve shirt and found some great sales at Macy's and Kohl's. My question is, are most of you having the groom and groomsmen attire identical?? I said I wanted his to be a bit different, but he wanted them to all be the same. Any ideas would be appreciated. I did look on the sticky forum and saw a lot of great suits, but he definitely doesn't want to wear a suit jacket so how can we set him a part a bit??

I haven't really set my heart on anything yet, but the color we want to go with is a pastel yellow, and I was thinking tea length for the dresses. Something light and flowy that they can be comfortable in.
  7. I was just wondering what everyone is doing regarding the bridal party expenses. I feel that since everyone is spending so much to fly out to Jamaica, I don't want to have them spend more money on dresses, shoes, etc. I would love to pay for the dresses, but am not sure it is in my budget. I am looking to find the cheapest dresses possible, but still want something that everyone will like and can wear again. I am just wondering what others have done?

  8. I personally felt that the RIU chain offers the best value for your money. The Sandals resorts looked nice, but seemed very pricey! I also liked the wedding packages and options available at the RIU. I originally was looking at RIu Negril, however after some research, I found that Ocho Rios seems to have more activities and excursions available for our guests. Also Negril doesn't offer the free wedding package. After looking on here and seeing all of the photos and great reviews I was sold on ROR. I figured it was better to go with a place that most people seemed pleased with. For our honeymoon we are going to Couples Negril, so we will get to see both sides of the island1

  9. I am also havingthe same problem and got stuck with 11:00 for our ceremony time. I emailed and told them that I would prefer a later time if available and I guess all we can do is wait and keep our fingers crossed. I also let my travel agent know and she is going to try and pull some strings for us too. If it doesn't change, I'm sure the early time will be just fine though!!
