Hi, I need some advice as to what some of you did for furniture and decorations for your coctail hour at Dreams. The reception will be at Oceana Terrace and we were thinking of having cocktails there as well, but I'm at a loss how to decorate for coacktails so that it's different from the dinner tables. Thanks!

We are having it at Panchos and the $18.00pp for an open bar requires a two hour minimum, so no matter who drinks what, we have to pay a minimum of $36.00pp for drinks...seems awfully pricey to me. Where are you having your dinner?

I just got pricing for our rehearsal dinner in Cabo and I think it's way over the top...come on, $37.00 for a plate of chicken and ribs (and this doesn't include tax or gratuity) and $18.00 pp for an open bar with a two hour minimum...it will cost us $36.00 for those who drink soda...is this the norm??

My coordinator is Katie with Weddings in Paradise and the company charges $1750 for up to 50 people. She's been great, but I did get the same reply "that's how it is down here" on a lot of things I questioned...I agree with Helland Photographs...there is less room for negotiation due to supply and demand, but don't stop trying! Thanks for the warm welcome. I recently stumbled accross this site and loved it...most of my planning is done, but I have made a few changes since reading the blogs...I only wish I would have found the site months ago when I was going a bit crazy with so many details!
