  1. I heard on 680 news on the way home that they have gone into receivership. But they only book with tour operators. So it is up to your tour operator (Sunquest, Signature, Nolitours etc) to figure out new flight arrangements. Skyservice shuts down operations - 680News

We just got back from Los Cabos -March 6 to 13. Flew Skyservice and used a credit ($250) that was to expire April 1, 2010. Whew we were lucky!

What an awful situation for anyone leaving soon! Good luck and I hope your travel agent can sort it all out for you!

Just thought future DW brides out there should be aware and cautious of Skyservice/Sunquest. And FYI, Skyservice is going bankrupt this year so if you have a wedding booked, I would think again.

    Royally angry bride,

Holly I'm so sorry that this has happened to you! We booked with Sunquest/Skyservice for my daughter's wedding and had no problems at all, but they did warn us that the date might have to change up to 21 days before departure.

Have you had to change your wedding date?

    Good luck!
  3. Hi ladies, I just got back from a week at this resort. I have previously stayed at the Barcelo Maya Tropical and the Barcelo Maya Palace. The Barcelo Los Cabos is definately smaller than the Mayan property but the quality of the rooms, food, and level of service was comparable to the Barcelo Maya Palace. We are fairly low maintenance people but we were constantly being asked if we wanted drinks or if we needed help. The beach is very different. You can not swim in the ocean at the Barcelo Los Cabos, but you can walk for miles in either direction.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and looks just like the pictures I've seen on the internet. Our room was fabulous with an ocean view (we were in the Premium club section but didn't pay any extra for that - I guess we just got lucky). The food was great. We ate at the Italian, Japanese, French and the steakhouse ala carte restaurants as well as the buffets and all were good.

This resort is within walking distance to San Jose del Cabo (25 mins by foot, $5 cab ride) and about 30 minutes by road to Cabo San Lucas.

I will say that if you are looking for a party atmosphere then there wasn't much of that happening there last week. There is not much night life on the the resort except for the piano bar has a lady singing a couple of nights a week. There is a nightclub across the street (Reds) but we didn't go there.

The firepits around the resort were terrific! There are some down on the beach and others closer to the lobby bars. They definately helped with getting to meet different people and keeping warm.

I did a fair amount of research before we left but I found the most helpful to be the facebook group set up with the name of the resort.

    Hope that helps!
