  1. Thanks for your input everyone. We are now just thinking about some simple Calla Lillies from Maye. Much less headache. J
  2. Hi all, I have a question about importing flowers into Cabo via the US or Mexico City. I have been told it is possible to import from the US, but it requires a permit. I haven't been able to find any info about such a permit and wanted to know if anyone had any further information. Also, if the US isn't an option for importing, does anyone have recommendations for other vendors in Mexico (e.g., Mexico City), that can import flowers more cheaply than what is available in Cabo? Thanks, J
  3. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find plenty of useful info here. Good luck with the wedding in 3008, you are definitely planning in advance . J
  4. Hi everyone, My name is Anya, and I'm Jason's other half. He has been handling lots of the planning to date (I'm very fortunate) and now I'll try to pull my weight. We just moved from Boston to San Francisco, so things have been very hectic with moving and starting/finding jobs. We're excited at having finalized our wedding date Nov. 8th at Dreams. Now we have lots to do! We're thinking about our Save the Date cards next. Looking forward to chatting with you all. Best, Anya
  5. Thanks Amanda. Better late than never .
  6. BTW- what hotels would be good if having a wedding at Mona Lisa? Amanda, where are you staying? Any idea how far away Dreams is from the Mona Lisa? Thanks, J
  7. Hello Amanda, Thanks for the info. You definitely answered my question. My FI and I were engaged at the Mona Lisa this past spring- it is a great place. You will have an amazing wedding. Can't wait to see the pictures. J
  8. Hello all, I am anticipating about 80 guests for our wedding and I had a question about the buy out option for the Mona Lisa. Based on Mona Lisa's 2007 numbers, I expect the flat fee for reserving the entire restaurant to be about $12500 for next year (excluding tax and tip). Does this fee include all food and drink for the night? I would assume so, but there didn't seem to be any further information regarding this issue. How is food and drink determined when someone “buys out†the Mona Lisa? J
  9. Ahh, you assume that I am the she. Well I guess I can't hide my identity for too long. Anya and I just moved to San Fran from Boston and I am still looking for work. Because I have so much free time, I have taken on the initial planning responsibilities. It is hard for me to admit. Anyway, I popped the question at the Mona Lisa after doing a search on the internet. I contacted Emma and she was great in helping me plan. It was such a great location and it would be great if our wedding could be there as well. I just don't know if the added costs make sense compared to an AIU. We are still nailing down the guest list which is between 70-100 . I'll be sure to let you know how we proceed. J
  10. Hello all, This is a great site. Thank you all so much for posting this information. My FI and I were engaged in Cabo in May of this year and we are thinking about returning to the scene of the crime for our wedding. We have not set a date yet, but are thinking Oct/ Nov 2008. I am looking forward to learning from you all. J
