What I like about bare minerals is that it's not really cakey or unnatural looking but you can totally conceal any spots you need to without wearing a ton of makeup. Also the amount they give you lasts for a long time and you can blend the colors.

While planning my wedding I found that prices were higher than I expected. We were also unable to get any pricing for Jan 2008 until June 2007. I think the point to remember is that the resort does not seemed impressed by you organizing a large group of people to come there, there is no real price break. FI and I have vacationed a lot always on a last minute deal about a month in advance to 5* resorts for great deals. When you are booking your group wedding trip they don't really discount. The advantage of the group booking is that if the resort is full (and it happens) group members shouldn't be bumped to other resorts. If someone books on their own they run the risk of being bumped. Also, when we were booking last month they told us how many seats were left on the plane for Jan 2008 and it was pretty full. There is no guarantee that there will be room on flights or at the resort if people book on their own. Ladies, regarding photographers I urge you to talk to wedding photogs you are interested in that work local to you. I got a recommendation from my travel agent that a local photog likes to travel. His work is great but he and his wife offer a special deal for off season destination weddings. They travel on the trip and you do not pay for the travel. You agree to purchase one of his higher end pkgs and he comes on the trip at their own cost. His albums are really unique, more like yearbooks or coffee table books, I am so excited. He is also coming to our reception for a few hours a month after the trip. It is more than we wanted to spend on photography, but there is really nothing I can compare prices with since he is travelling with us.

I had to make the same decision recently for a Jan 2008 wedding. We had traveled to PC in winter before and loved that the ocean was turquoise and warm. Our experiences in Mexico in January have been good but ocean too rough, cold and seaweedy to swim or wade in. Pool was the only option. Cancun/Riv Maya seems to have more night life than PC and you should take a look at fees. I believe the Dominican govt has recently increased fees for judge for non residents marrying there. Went from a really small number to $500 I think, then add fees from document translator on top of that. You should also consider that different areas of Mexico require different things...blood tests? Our travel agent says that DR is all of a sudden really popular, so costs may be higher now. Direct flights avail to Mexico and PC from Chicago, Milw. You will be able to find a resort no problem in either location with things to do for adults & kids. In my own experience day tours & activities available in each locale are comparable. To me it always seems like going to Mexico is like an extension of the US. I really enjoy feeling far away and appreciating the local culture of DR. Good luck!

I use Bare Minerals and I love it. If you are oily and that is why you have a hard time finding the right make up, I suggest something like Proactiv, or a knock off kit avail at drugstores for around $19.99. The key is the lotion. It has benzoyl peroxide in a low concentration 2.5% (Neutrogena also makes On the Spot Acne Cream in 2.5% if you don't need a whole cleaning system). Any higher (most acne creams are 5 or 10% benzoyl peroxide) concentration and your skin feel stripped of oils and then overcompensates by producing more oil. Use the 2.5% BP under your make up and I think you will notice less oil production and your make up will stay on better. Good luck.
