  1. I must say that your Avatar reminds me of Silar from the "Heroes" show.
  2. a ultra small digital camera is also on my list of things to buy for my trip. aside from my general appreciation for the color and lens quality of Canon, I have no recommendations to offer. My lone suggestion is to make sure that your camera has at least a f2.8 aperture setting (small numbers are good). While you want to have shots that include your general surroundings (and why not, if its a DW), you will appreciate the benefits of being able to blur the background a little bit so that the greater focus on your subjects immediately draws the eye to them. Just take a look at some portraiture you like and you will often find the ones you like most have backgrounds that are slightly out of focus. (sorry for the geeky response, but i love photography)
  3. welcome to another Dreams bride!

Let me know if you want more info. There are a few grooms (and mothers, aunts, etc.) out there - and we're glad to have you all! Jason is probably the most active groom - but he's not on every day. nope, not destinationweddings.com. the overabundance of "sales material" versus informative details on their website really turned me off. everything link was just an excuse to sell you on using them. and i have it on good authority that they charge you $50 just to talk to you. not for me.

  8. congrats! I am hoping to be married at Dreams Tulum in early March 2008.
  9. here is the engagement ring i gave my Tiffany... a little unique, just like my faince. ring.pdf
  10. Personally, I'd sell it on Ebay or give it away. I personally wouldn't want to use it if I knew you, but I have no issues with using/buying items that have no known history/drama. -ndiege

I am glad to hear all the rave reviews about the resort as I have never been to Mexico and had originally wanted to go to a Caribbean island a la Jamaica or the Dominican Republic.

  13. Hi everyone, I must say I am extremely happy I happened to find this forum in a random google search (for Dreams Tulum). I hope that Tiffany and I (Garrett) can contribute as much helpful information as I have already gotten so far. Here are our every changing details: 1. Name - Tiffany and Garrett 2. Wedding date - planning around kids school schedule, so spring break 2008 3. Wedding location - 80-90% sure it'll be in Mexico, and 80-90% sure we love Dreams Tulum for the wedding and then a getaway to Secrets Capri. I'd love to know from everyone if there truly is such a thing as a "destination wedding coordinator" and why you have/have not chosen to go that route. I found one that we have just begun to work with, but am thrilled with so far (she suggested Dreams Tulum). Some are really just travel agents in disguise and others actually do what you'd expect a wedding planner to do (and get paid via booking the travel). Garrett
