We live 10 minutes from Albany INternational Airport.

We save a combined 600-700 dollars by driving 3 hours to NYC and parking instead of flying out of ALB. Just something to look into. It could save a bunch of cash for them.
  2. One that comes to mind ended with a 15yo Jason drunk on a few 40s of OE and banging on the windows of McDonalds (which was closed) at 3 in the morning screaming that I wanted a cheeseburger. That did not work so I moved on to the pizza place down the street from my house. No pizza. I went home and threw up all over my self and my bedroom anyway.

BTW I kick ass at Trivial Pursuit so when we meet bring it on Lambert!
To further hijack my wife's thread....I have a great trivial pursuit story for you. Karen is probably laughing already..

When we were still in the relatively early part of our dating, we decided to have a trivial pursuit night at my house with just the two of us. Of course we were both talking a lot of shit and predicting a landslide victory.

Well, we played, and somehow I managed to win. I got all proud and pointed to the front of the box. I said "See that....Genius edition....just like me...a genius".

Karen broke out laughing immediately. I had no idea what was so goddam funny. Hell, I just won the contest of the mind. Who was she to be laughing. She pointed to the box and particulary to the word genius. Only it wasn't genius. It was GENUS edition. "Yup, you're a real genus sweetie".

I still cant live that one down.
  4. If you are going to go the non-resort route........your options are endless.

You could even do a ceremony on a beach far away from any hotels if you wanted.

I contacted these people when we were looking for photographers and they also have options for creating a wedding for you wherever you want. Wedding Photography by Michael Maurus . You might even want to have them send you their info packet just to get some ideas.

    Some other location ideas........

    - Akumal. There is a cannon house overlooking the bay that is popular for weddings. There are a few nice restaurants to do a reception also

    - Any of the beaches along the Tulum beach road.

-Cozumel. You never hear about many weddings out there on this board. I have seen photos of places on the eastern shore that would be a stunning backdrop for a ceremony.

Don't you have that when a high intensity game of Trivial Pursuit gets in the way of plans?

I have been to Cancun 6 times and never knew that they had a freakin wal-mart!!! I guess I never needed anything from there before now!!! Awesome for extra oot stuff and stuff for table decor, and extra baby pool toys!!!!!Then when I'm done Ill just give the toys to other kids:)
Walmart is about 1 hour by bus from the Grand Oasis or 30 minutes or so by taxi.

Honestly, if you arrive in Cancun at 9, it would be a small miracle to get all that done and back to your hotel by 1.
  7. If all else fails and let's say chartering a plane is the only viable option...

I know I would put as much money as I could towards helping with the cost. If we got enough of us behind an effort like that, I bet we could absorb a good portion of the cost for them. A $10,000 bill for them to handle alone is astronomical. But, if all of us, their friends and family chipped in whatever they could...that could become a possibility.

Ann..if that is the only option that looks possible...don't count it out before coming to all of us for help. I can pledge my support for what I can part with.

I think your Karmic account is overflowing already with all that you guys do.

The only good deed I have done today so far was to refrain from beating the life out of the asshole in front of me at the gas station. They came within inches of hitting my car and then gave me the finger when I honked to warn them they were about to hit me.

I promise I will try to do something today though.
  9. What about flying first class on a commercial flight?

-You would be much more comfortable.

-It's a lot quicker than the land travel options

-It's a lot cheaper than chartering a plane

I would also imagine that if you told the flight crew your situation, they would bend over backwards to help you out.

SCRATCH ALL THAT. JUST SAW YOUR REPLY.

I think taking a train as far as you can without transferring to busses and whatnot, and then driving or having someone picking you up would be a good option.

That is too funny. Our little devil Beagle Chloe does the same thing. That mischievous look out of the corner of her eye while she is doing something wrong. And then the race to finish whatever she should not be eating before I get there to take it away.

    Little devils they are.

Sorry to hear that. Don't worry though...that condition is not usually fatal. There is hope for a full recovery to a proper fan base like the NY Yankees.
  12. When we were shopping around for my ring just about every mall jewelery store we went into had them in the store. Usually tungsten and titanium on display.

We ended up buying mine at Beldens Jewelers. The sizing on them is very tricky since they cannot be sized like gold or platinum. I originally ordered what they thought was my size and when it came in it was too big. They had to re-order the ring in about 3 different sizes until we found an exact size that worked for me.

If you order it online just make sure you can exchange it if the sizing is not right.

  13. Stub hub is our usual go to for Yankees tickets.

    Other ideas....

    1. Craigslist for NYC

    2. Call the stadium box office. Sometimes they release tickets a few days before the game

    3. Scalpers outside of the stadium

or do what we do and pre-game it real hard before going in and sit in the bleachers
