So I finally chose the Xcaret - (well, we'll see if Edith gets back to me giving me a 'yay' for the date) 1) Caribbean ocean! (considered PV for awhile, but the sand wasn't doing it for me..) 2) Snorkeling in a lagoon - that's hot.. 3) AI 4) wedding packages seem straight forward 5) good reviews about Edith, even though she may not give full attention until closer to dates 6) I like how I have no idea how to pronounce Xcaret and it may cause some mild chaos seriously, this forum is awesome.

Okay, so i FINAAAALLLY decided. I think it's going to be the Occidental Xcaret. I love the idea of the cliff gazebo situation and the lagoon snorkeling..seems like the grounds are lush and there's plenty to do for guests. Anyway, for those that are xcaret's, few q's: do you know average room rates for guests? should i expect a discount for the group? how do i know / coordinate how the guests book for the hotels / traveling? is it through the hotel or a travel agent? I hope the dates work out, but it's exciting to finally decide. Now I can actually imagine and move on...not just obsess on tripadvisor!

hahah...well, as far as a pic of the ring, clearly i'm having some serious issues w/ the whole photo and computer thang. but i will say, it makes a gal feel pretty and the story...he took me to austin, to the place where we had our first date...but not only that, the place where i saw my first shooting star in my whole life..and you can guess what i wished for..so here we are, wishes fulfilled, but i don't remember wishing to plan for this affair ;O laura, what did you think of vellas vallarta? and, in general, should i not expect people to be as responsive w/ email in Mexico? I sent out a whole lot of emails requesting wedding packages and nothing..

I'm kind of drowning looking at all the different locations...I think I need a floatie w/ a margarita! I went to a wedding in Playa del Carmen (Iberostar paraiso) in November and enjoyed the experience. Seems like AI is a good option for guests and gives them a lot of things to do. So, my question is, what are some comparable resorts / experiences in PV..? So far I'm looking at Melia PV, Samba Vallarta and Grand Velas - Would you recommend going w/ a wedding coordinator thru a resort or one that's outside (does that get expensive getting one from outside?) A wedding in cape cod...that's a pretty great location too..looked into that myself, but not really from Boston (from Texas), so wanted something that felt more like home. Thanks y'all!
