Questions!

Hi,

My wedding is in November 2013, but I am trying to do everything my self and ahead of time. And have some questions. Im looking at having it at the Blau Varadero Hotel.

Did they have a cake large enough for your guests and were you able to pick out your kind and color of your cake?

Where you able to pick out your flowers?

Did you have to pay for dinner for all your guests or was it all-inclusive?

Was there international alcoholic drinks or just local?

Did you do wedding favours? I was thinking of doing little bags with cups, hand sanitizer, a little pack of kleenex(for when we are off the resort) and a weekly planner almost talking about what we are doing for the week and activities and things to know about Varadero. and I was thinking flip flops in our colors.

And if you don't mind me asking how much was your wedding? ( my budget is 15,000 and I thought that was pretty decent considering it is in Cuba, but at work someone was telling me how their dinner, not including drinks was over 15,000, so now I'm super nervous)

Thanks so much for your advice and input,

Anna

Hey Anna,

Welcome and congrats!  You should probably do a search for your resort, looking at reviews and planning threads.  I can't give you any specifics because my wedding is taking place in Cabo.

But check out this thread:

There is sooo much information on here I am sure you will find answers to most of your questions and answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet.  Happy Planning!

The only way their dinner was 15,000 if they brought 400 people or more... and I really doubt it's the case here :)

Chances are, there's an extra zero there or your friend wanted you to think she spent millions on her wedding :))))

Some hotels have packages that include a dinner for all the guests, but most require additional charge, which is around $20-35pp

cheers!

Here's a link to sunwing site for your references so you can check what hotel may include and at what price. You can get a lot for 1500-2000(two thousand and not twenty :) )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
