  1. @@HilaryRobin I was quoted 4 dollars PER bag for the hotel to hand them out and I had 80 guests, so we handed them out ourselves. Usually at dinner each night or at the pool during the day! Good luck!
  2. @@KimberlyD We just got married at EDR on january 22nd. I did not choose a "Beach dress" at all (mine was satin), but I LOVEDDDD IT!!! I agree with the rest of the girls, pick what you fall in love with, everything photographs well on the Beach I will say I was a little warm, but that's because we did all our shots on the beach at 4pm and the sun was pretty strong, but I wasn't sweating and we had water and fans available to help out. I had 80 guests, which I think is a lot, and when we discussed minimal reception decor, the prices were outrageous!. They were quoting us at 200 dollars for centerpieces (3 vases) PER table - We ended up bringing down our own decorations and it was worth it for us! We had dollar store vases filled with water and floating candles and 1 real touch silk calla lily per table, which sat on a mirror and we added a cobalt blue table runner (1 dollar each on tableclothfactory.com). I think we filled 2 suitcases total with decor (I also brought down ALL my flowers - real touch silk - bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, etc. which took up some room in the suitcases. We did not do a Cocktail Hour since its all-inclusive, people could just disperse and get their own drinks if they wanted between the ceremony and reception. We did however, have a Free Rehearsal Dinner for up to 40 people provided which was great! My ceremony was on the Beach at Gazebo 55, which is a popular spot, and due to power outages on the resort, our reception was moved from the Ballroom to the beach (the White Gazebo). It actually turned out BEAUTIFUL and we had an amazing time. Some of my pictures are posted on facebook under my Photographers page: HAPPY GATHERINGS (Carol MacGregor) Happy Gatherings added 27 new photos from January 22 to the album: Rachel & Javonn Marry at Eldorado Royale — (Try to click on the Link above and hopefully it will lead you to some of the photos) Let me know if you have any other questions. EDR is great!
  3. Hello All EDR 2015 Brides!!! Can anyone shed some light on packing suitcases and getting thru Customs into Mexico with Wedding Decor / Gifts / OOT Bags / Silk Bouquets (if anyone did this)....? Is the total still $300 per person allowed into Mexico as "gifts" (Items you will not be returning with). Or has this increased to $500 per person? Do you have to "claim" these items on the forms they have you fill out on the Plane??? Did people pack all their receipts? HELP PLEASE!!!! All stories are welcome!!! @@EriLu11 @@calgarybride2015 @@LoLoJabs @@travelgal78 @@girlinthecity97 and Happy Wedding Day tomorrow @kfracassi
  4. Hello, My wedding at EDR is coming up in January!!! Can any past brides please let me know their experience with the Salon / hair stylists onsite and if you had professional makeup done?? If you have names of people you used, that would be awesome! All info is welcome!! THANKS!
  5. Hello!! Just got word from my Claudia, My Lomas wedding coordinator that since we will not be having an official "Coccktail hour" between the ceremony and reception, they want to start our reception at 5pm and go til 8pm (!) Seems pretty short to me??? Three hours only for the reception? IS this normal? Also our ceremony is suppose to start at 330pm, then we will do pictures following... I have 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen and 100 people coming to the Wedding, so I anticipate ALOT of pics will be taken following the ceremony (we are NOT doing a first look)... Should I have them start the Reception at 6pm to be safe?? Any help from past Brides would be Great!!
  6. Thanks for looking @AllieH1 Our Ceremony is at Gazebo 55 which seems very popular and a good choice. Posted Today, 06:19 PM @Tagliatti01 - yes! let me do some digging through the threads. I think one EDR 2013 or 2014 bride had her reception in the Salon, but ballroom pics are pretty scarce. Tagliatti01, on 09 Apr 2015 - 5:44 PM, said:
  7. Hello! I'm a Newbie to Best Destination Weddings Blog and so excited that I found all these reviews on EDR !!! I'm getting married there January 22, 2016 and Im in the middle of planning. Question: Has anyone had their reception indoors, at the Grand Ballroom or the Salon Royale???? I was told we have too many people for Tucanes (we have 80 guests so far), so inside we will be. Hoping for some pictures!!! @AllieH can you help me out with some pics?? Can't wait to share info with everyone!!!
