Wedding Date: August 1, 2015 (Saturday)
Guest: 73 adults 8 kids
Travel Agency: Liberty Travel
Gold Package

We early arrived on Wednesday, July 29th and was greeted with champagne. This was our first time at the Iberostar. The resort is gorgeous. We were able to go eat and relax on the beach while waiting to be checked-in. We were able to get the presidential suite. We stayed there until the day after the wedding. It was beyond AMAZING!

We met with Nicole on Thursday morning to go over the details. I bought a cake stand, table numbers signs, table seating chart, wish lanterns, fan programs, lighters, glass shots glasses (favors) and more. We didn’t have our wedding ceremony music or all of our guest meal choices ready. No problem Mon! Nicole was able to download our wedding ceremony songs. Then, she asked if I could have everyone (welcome dinner and wedding reception) meals before 1pm that day. However, that didn’t quite happen.

Welcome Dinner and Beach Party: All of my guest arrived on Thursday, we had a reservation from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Aunt Ruby’s steakhouse. I requested that everyone wear white. Most of my guest arrived late to the dinner and I wasn’t able to get a complete list of my guest meal choices. So, the waiters just went around to take their orders. After dinner, we walked down to the beach party (8:30 pm – 10:30 pm). There were chairs and cocktail table setup. I had a DJ for 2 hours, open bar international (1 hour but they served for 2 hours) and a fire dancer. Nicole helped us released wish lanterns (1 per couple). It was beautiful! Everyone had a great time and went to the disco after.

Wedding Day:
Hair and Make Up: I hired Rachel for makeup and her hair stylist. They arrived on time. Rachel started at 10am on my 7 bridesmaids, mom, godmother and I. Our makeup was flawless. The hair stylist only did my hair. She did a good job. But, I could have curled my own hair for $75. My curls dropped by the end of the ceremony anyway frown emoticon.

Wedding Décor and flowers: I hired Godfrey Guy for all decorations including flowers (bouquets and huppa), centerpieces, and sweetheart table , tablecloths and etc. He did a great job and was very responsive! I only used the cake flowers and registry flowers from Tai Flora.

Photographer: Brian Nejedly was a pleasure to work with. I felt that he could have been a little more creative and detail oriented with certain pictures. But overall, my pictures came out nice. We received our photos two weeks after the wedding.

Videography: Your Day Cinema (Roxroy Gough) - I haven’t received the video yet or been in contact since the wedding. I will be emailing them this weekend.

Ceremony: The wedding was on the beach in front of Aunt Ruby’s at 5:00pm. We had wedding rehearsal the day before with our wedding party. So, everything went smoothly and accordingly on our wedding day. The music, wedding officiant and decorations was perfect!

Cocktail Hour: Nicole suggested it would better to have cocktail hour on the beach instead of the lazy river. So, the cocktail hour was on the beach at 5: 30pm with the steel band playing and cold apps included in the gold package. My guest didn’t eat anything! They were too busy talking, taking pictures and drinking.

Wedding Reception: We choose the Calabash from 6:30pm-10pm. We substituted the original menu with chicken ceasar salad and jerk wings with plantains for the appetizer. Since, I still wasn’t able to get all of my guest meal choices. Nicole told me to pick two meats to be served on everyone’s plate. Everyone had steak and snapper. I was able to request lamb for myself. We had the international bar for one hour ( They served drinks for the entire 3 hours).

DJ Kevan: He was great! He kept the party going all night. We gave him a list of songs and met with him on Friday. We went over names, wedding party and entrance songs.

Spa: The day of the wedding I noticed that my French manicure that was done before leaving the US chipped. I called the spa and they told me to come over to have it fixed free of charge. The girl did a good job. Also, on Sunday my husband and I had an appointment at the spa. The massage was good.

Overall, the experience was great. I have no complaints and wish we could do it all over again! All of my guest enjoyed themselves as well. Some of them are planning to go back next year.

As I am reading these reviews, I am finding that most ppl did not go with Tai Flora for their flowers. I will follow suit. Thank you so much for the detailed review and congratulations!!!!
