  1. Thank you for your help! There are a few in the group that have purchased the Club Hacienda and it sounds as though it is the same service. I am trying to arrange that we stay in the same building or very close to each other. I just didn't know if we needed to pay extra for the Club Hacienda to be able to do this with our guests. Thanks again:) Does anyone know if you get access to drinks and food at the Akumal with the Club Hacienda VIP wristbands? Or are you still limited to the Tulum and Coba? Thanks for helping
  2. A few questions if anyone can help I noticed we get VIP service with the wedding packages, what does this include? Does anyone know if the resort has shuttle services to and from the airport? For the dinner at the a la cart resturants for the reception dinner, are you able to order from the regular menu? Our group will be small and I'm not interested in a set menu. Any help will be much appreciated as I have not heard from Linda or Jasmin on these questions. Thanks ladies
  3. Hi @@Maggietron, That's fantastic! We are getting married on the beach at Tulum (ocean view) at 5 pm on the 11th. We will be at the resort between Aug 3-19. We wanted to have some time to get things done before our guests arrive on the 8th and to as well have alone time after they leave. Where are you at with your planning process?
  4. Hello Shannonandangela, I too have been waiting for a reply from Jazmin. From my understanding she is a manager and she should be assigning you a wedding consultant soon. I'm getting married on Aug 11 and it seems like everything goes in stages as far as responses. I am sure she will be in contact with you soon. Try not to worry although I know it's hard. I am a makeup artist by trade and what I recommend is less is more when it's hot. If you can forgo the moisturizer and use a primer under your foundation . Avoid using concealer over top of your foundation (use light weight one with no oils) as well. Use the concealer on the areas that you need it only. To make things even you will want to match these two items to your skin tone not any lighter. I often I take a few shades (while on holidays) and I mix them to get the exact colour as your skin will change while your there. Use some bronzer and set everything with translucent loose power (colourless). Prime your eyelids to prevent creasing (very important). Use waterproof as much as you can. For blush use a liquid (stain) if possible. Practice prior to your wedding as it can be a bit tricky to get it right. Hopefully this helps you out.
  5. I am so happy you have all your answers CatrinaMcG and congratulations!
  6. Hello BTB, I have just joined as we just booked our wedding to be held at GBP. We will be staying at the Tulum from Aug 3 - 19, 2015 and our wedding day is Aug 11, 2015 at 5pm. We have chose to have a beach wedding. After the ceremony we will do pictures prior to dinner. We are planning to arrange to go to Coco Bongo in Playa del Carmen for a night of dancing and entertainment. We will be booking the VIP area to have a more collective area for everyone to enjoy the night. We do have a smaller group so, we wanted to do something a bit different. I do have a few questions for you ladies if you would be kind enough to share...? Are there any brides getting married in Aug? Any advice/review on the mexican a la cart restaurant? Our theme is a mexican fiesta feel and thought it would be fitting. Have you ladies had any issues with requesting a room upgrade with ocean view? I have noticed that the package includes VIP privileges, any idea what this includes? We don't expect to be treated differently, just curious more than anything. We understand it's Mexico and things can be overlooked, but any advice would be appreciated Here's a tip for all of those that are confused with documents needed for a legal ceremony: If you have never been married then passports are only required. If divorced/widowed than ladies you have to wait one year and you will need your paperwork in order 3 months in advance to the wedding date (divorce decree/death certificate). These will need to be translated by an official translator, bring to the Notary Republic (if not the original copy), legalized by Mexican Consulate and this all has to be done in Canada (for the GBP Resorts in the Mayan). You will have to do this as well for your birth certificate (long form not card size). ***This only has to be done if you wish to remarry with your maiden name and your passport has not been changed to reflect that revision*** ***To make things easier on yourselves, save the added costs/headaches and get your passport changed back to your maiden name and then all you will need is your passport*** This is for the Grand Bahia Principe in Maya Riviera only. Each state in Mexico can be different and as well, each resort. There is a lot of conflicting info on this and I thought I would help those needing clarification. Any questions feel free to ask me and I can keep it in layman's terms for you. I hope this helps and I thank you guys for any help in advance. Happy planning
  7. Thank you for the info... very well done! I'm getting married in Aug 2015 at GBP Tulum and I have been searching for details and I came across yours... very helpful I know there may be some differences now but, this is a start until I hear back from the WC. How was the communication during the planning process?? It seems that 3-4 days are going g by without a response.... Makes me a bit nervous. I'm sure all will work out so, I don't stress. Lpl Thanks again
