Hello! I'm new here. I'm so excited to find this thread!! I can't get anybody at the resort to respond to me (I had to fight for 3 months just to get them to set a wedding date for me, and they've ignored the other email I have sent as well), so its great to have some references of what to expect. So far, I have to say I'm not thrilled with the Akumal. I've always wanted a late afternoon/close to sunset wedding on the beach, and the resort refuses to let me do that. I'm booked in at 3pm on April 9th, 2014. Did anybody else get a later time than that? They told me they don't do it, but that seems really strange to me. I can't be the only one who wants to get married in the evening. Reading reviews on here helps restore my faith that my wedding will turn out great. I'm worried, but I'm trying not to be.
