Can anyone advise how they safely traveled with so much cash? With the photographer, part of Jellyfish charges, pastor, tips, etc... we are going to have to bring $5,000 + in cash and it is making me very nervous. Does anyone know if additional funds can be wired to the Jellyfish prior to leaving the US to pay for the portions that can't be paid by credit card? Can Travelers Cheques be used? Any advise would be great! Thank you!!

Does anyone have a contact for the groups department and Hair salon at Melia? Has anyone ever used the hair salon there? I'd prefer to use someone else, but can't pay the vendor fees.. So unless we can all get ready at the Jellyfish might be my only option? Thank you!

Can someone advise how many days before your wedding it is best to arrive to meet with Mayte? We were planning on flying in on Sat and the wedding is on Mon, so the only day we would then be able to meet to go over all the wedding plans would be Sun (the day before the wedding!!) Do you think this will be enough time or do we need to re-plan our flights (haven't booked yet)? Thank you!

Does anyone know of a contact for group reservations at the Melia? We are leaning towards staying there since it is right next to Jellyfish, but wanted to see if anyone was able to book a welcome dinner there (30-40 people max) that was included with the all-inclusive and not at the buffet. Any other pros and cons on the resort would be amazing as well! Thank you!!

I received an email from Mayte saying my date was locked.. but as she is extremely busy that she will provide a quote as soon as she can. Does anyone know if I need to send the deposit now to actually have my date locked 100%, or if I am OK to wait to send my deposit until I get a quote? I just want to make sure my date is for sure locked since I'll be sending out save the dates soon.

So excited we got our date confirmed! 4/7/14! Does anyone have information on if you need to pay the rental fee or not? I have read posts that stated $500 to rent out the bottom and beach ($750 based on my date and 2013 price list) but read others that said they didn't have to pay the rental fee, just decoration fees. We are planning on having 30-40 people so don't know if we are required to rent out the bottom and the beach to have our ceremony and reception or if we will just take up most of the bottom and not really need to rent it out? We don't mind if there are other people around as long as there is a way to tell who is with our party at the bar (we are planning on paying per drink- not open bar plans). Any assistance would be great!
