  1. Kelly- Thanks so much for acting as the forum moderator. I didn't realize that I had to state my reason for posting on a public forum to you or anyone else. Rest assured, there is no hidden agenda. I was just sharing my experience. If you check my stats, you will see that you are faulty in your assumption that I have never posted. Sure, I don't post everyday or every week, but I do routinely check this forum and have been a member for quite some time. I apologize if my post did not meet your standards. I wish you the best and I will never post here again. To be honest, I tried to remove my posts but it was not an option.
  2. Kelly- I don't think it matters if a bride has posted before or not. We are all here because we are brides of PPR. Does it make their experiences unimportant? Does it not make sense to acknowledge that with time, reviews may differ? I thought the same while I was at PPR--why didn't I see these things on the forum? My fiance (at the time) even asked me if I knew about some of the issues beforehand because he knew that I read the forum on a weekly basis. I informed him that I had not seen any negative reviews as such. As I stated previously, my only goal was to share my mishaps with regards to communication with the PPR Romance Team in order to help future brides have a better day. You have my permission to take my review with a grain of salt. :-) I wish you the best! Have a fantastic wedding day!
  3. Kelly- I am sorry if you mistaken my sharing of issues to be mean spirited. It was not my intention. The whole point was to share the lack of communication that can occur between the bride and Paradisus Team. All weddings are expensive. To travel to another country and have not one, but all three events scheduled on your big day flooded with issues is not to be overlooked. My advice is not to fret (especially if you're laid back), but to ensure that you have discussed with the Romance Team line by line what you expect for the ceremony, cocktail, and reception. With this advice, I hope that the future PPR brides have the wedding of their dreams. I am certain that your friends and family will have a fabulous time as well! Aside from the wedding day and checking in, the complaints were very minimal--while it may not look that way.
  4. They called me to change my location before the ceremony began. That is why they could not use the lighting that was requested. Sorry, you had issues too.
  5. I share the same exact feelings about the resort and Romance Team. Here is the list of issues I shared with them. They responded with a list of excuses and no apologies or recognition of their mistakes.
  6. I agree! She was rude to me b/c she scheduled the Dominican Trio at the wrong time. She started yelling at me during my cocktail hour like it was my fault. I had to walk away. I sent the hotel and corporate Romance team a letter of my complaints (11 to be exact) and they did not apologize for any of them and blamed me for perceiving it that way. I was highly frustrated with their response to my concerns. All in all, I had a good time, my guests had a great time, but they have lots to work on to improve their service to brides at Paradisus.
  7. Hello PPR Brides! I am so anxious b/c my date is so close and my planner is due soon! I have a few questions (please keep in mind that I am trying control the cost at this point): 1. What information are you including in your welcome bags? Are you also including gifts or favors? I was thinking of adding an info sheet (with information to be determined), a favorite DR snack, maybe a map, and a personalized plastic cup. I can't think of anything else. Cheesy? 2. Are you having a rehearsal dinner? If so, where? 3. For 26 people, should I hire a DJ? If no DJ, should I hire an MC? 4. Is anyone hiring a videographer? If so, who are you using? Is anyone also streaming their wedding for guests who can't attend? 5. Is anyone using an outside stylist for hair or make-up? Thanks for your help!
  8. I am working with Theresa. Inbox me if you would like additional information about her rates. ([email protected]). So far, I am very pleased with her.
  9. I selected the Caribbean BBQ, however, I have not had an opportunity to try it. I am substituting a few items, but otherwise I felt that it would offer a unique experience as well as lobster tails :-)
  10. We are going with the Garden gazebo for the ceremony, Plaza Colonial for the cocktail, and Olympus Terrace for the reception.
