  1. They should seriously think about setting up a "frequently asked questions" section so Alejandra doesn't have to answer the same questions 100 times! I have totally asked her all of these same questions! LOL! I have the same package and I got the same answers. I always feel bad bugging her, but the resort is very unclear with add-on pricing compared to some other resorts I looked into.
  2. Great list! My welcome bags will have a "wedding weekend survival kit" that will contain chap stick, aloe, sunblock, hand sanitizer, mints, Advil and tissues. My mother-in-law is making us some super cute personalized koozies, personal coolers (holds a 6-pack) and nail kits for the ladies. She is super crafty, so each item will have something to do with our wedding, but "Jamie & Andy" won't be plastered on every item so people can (hopefully) use them again. Everything is going in beach bags we found at the dollar store. We are also going to put something from Mexico (authentic candy or a souvenir maybe?) in them after we go shopping on 5th Ave. I also made brochures on Microsoft Publisher that contains a thank you note, info about the restaurants, tipping procedures, activities on and off the resort and an itinerary for the weekend. We're just packing everything and bringing it with us. 38 more days!! I can't believe it!
  3. Great bags! They really came together nice and you covered every possible base. The titles for the bags were really cute too!
  4. Hi Jessicalynn! (aka Mrs. Berg) I was originally thinking about mailing stuff down there, but after reading about how unreliable the mail system is down there I decided that I would just pack it and pay for the extra luggage. I assume it will probably cost about the same as it would to ship it and I don't have to worry about it getting lost in the Mexican postal service. Just remember that your luggage has to be 50lbs or less (I would double check with your airline), so if you pack it make sure you divvy it out accordingly. I also made sure to have a direct flight so I don't have to worry about it not making the transfer flight Are you getting super excited! I know we are!
  5. Hi Ladies, So we want to do maracas for our favor, but I am planning on buying them in Playa del Carmen when we get there so I do not have to travel with them. Anyone have any advice on this? Do you think I will find them easily and reasonably priced? Any info will help! Thanks!
  6. [email protected] That is Alejandra's e-mail address. She is my wedding coordinater at the Quetzal. She has been extremely helpful with every question I have had (and there have been a ton! LOL!) I would send you my list, but I booked last year and from my understanding the prices have gone up so it's probably best you get the proper pricing directly from the source. I was really nervous about doing a destination wedding for fear of communication problems, but I can't say enough how extremely helpful she has been. If there is anything you want that they do not have she will get you pricing for it from an outside vendor that they work with (like our light up dance floor!!). We are getting married on June 1st, so if you have any questions about planning or small details I will happy to fill you in, but my prices may be a little less since they are 2012 prices! Congratulations and happy hotel hunting!
  7. Hi! I'm new to the site and am getting married at the Iberostar Quetzal next June! So excited!
