HI! I am considering Riu Palace or Majestic Elegance for our wedding next June 2012. How much of a difference in price is it between the two? What have your conversations been like with the staff and WC there? Are you having your ceremony translated? Or did you find an English speaking priest? Hope to hear from you soon Meagan

Hi! My name is Meagan and I live in Chicago with my fiance Kelly (yes, that is a man). We just got engaged on October 14th We know that we want a destination wedding and we are working with a travel agent to determine the best spot. We have narrowed it down to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We are between two resorts...The Majestic Elegance and the Riu Palace. Hi Girls, This is my very first post ever...on any website. So, I am recently engaged and starting to plan a destination wedding to Punta Cana. I am trying to choose between the Majestic Elegance or the Riu Palace. I would love to hear from those of you who have had or are having weddings at either. I am concerned about the civil ceremony and the legality or validity of it back in my home of Chicago. Was this a huge pain in the ass for people? Or not bad at all? I would also love some ideas of DIY stuff that you brought with you for the ceremony and/or reception. I would especially like to see pictures of your wedding if you had the ceremony on the beach (that is what I am aiming for). Well that should be enough for now. Thanks in advance!
