Are there any May 2012 brides? I am getting married May 19th and starting to get uber excited, although I feel like there is still so much to do to bring this day together!

Has anyone had a wedding at The Palace but without a reception? I am getting married there in May with about 20 guests, and don't see the need for an actual reception especially since we are having an at home reception. I keep going back and forth on whether we should spend the extra money for a private dinner, or just book a reservation for dinner that evening.

Jana297 - Juan was the very first photographer that I researched and contacted. When we first started, we were hoping to pay less for our photos so we eliminated him, but now that we have decided to increase our budget for pics, he is definitely back in the running. I love his work also!

coconoir1908, How did you arrive at Ivan? After discussing the budget with my FI, we excluded Del Sol and La Luna solely on the basis on price and they were not flexible with the hours we needed for wedding coverage, which is understandable. Their pictures are wonderful, however I like others just as much for a lower cost and others have agreed to be more flexible on our big day. So, my finalists are Juan Navarro (added him after seeing his new price lists include photobooks), Sascha Gluck, and Claudia Photo.

I have narrowed down my photographer choices to Claudia Rodriguez or Sascha Gluck. Has anyone used either of them before. They are both extremely personable through email, and I like each style. I am having a tough time deciding!

I am getting married in the Riviera Maya area next spring, and need to choose a photgrapher quick before the dates are taken. After narrowing the options down, I still have 5 that I like, Claudia Rodriguez, Sascha Gluck, Ivan Luckie, La Luna, and Del Sol. If you have worked with these photographers or companies please let me know what you liked/didn't like about them.

Is there a DJ? Or is it a live band? And by requests, I'm assuming I can ask for particular American songs? With our package we get 50% off for the wedding party in the VIP lounge so I'm hoping it's not too expensive to take everyone. We will have about 35- 40 people, so I'd be ok with it being empty! Mor fun for us! lol

Did anyone try out the Jaguar Night Club? If so, how did you like it? What type of music did they play. My travel planner recommended it as a Wedding Night out get together for my wedding party.

Does Ivan have a website? I'm looking for a photgrapher now, and want to weigh all my options. How did you guys like working with him???

He uses MAC?! That's a relief! That's all I use, but I've never had the airbrush.....I think I'm more worried about how my hair will turn out. How many guests are you having? If you get any good leads on activities, please let me know. My email is: [email protected] I found this jungle zip line excursion that I am excited to try, but I can't see paying for the entire wedding party at $80 per person!

Lynn P. what is your wedding date? Have you decided whether you are doing that cruise? If so, I will be sure to touch base with you and see how it went. That sounds expensive. Did I mention that I'm cheap? lol I am so completely terrified that the airbrushed foundation will not match my skin tone. Frankly, I'm just freaked out by the unknown factors. My travel agent has reminded me that in order to relax I have to remain flexible. Hahaha Maybe I will have someone here try it out first. I'm hoping that my friend who is a makeup artist can make it so that will be one less think that I have to worry about. <Taking a deep breath>

Thanks for the info Jessica. I've emailed Adrian and I'm just waiting for a reply. I am taking a photographer with me, but she is a solo team, so I'm hoping to find one local to the area as well. I will contact Claudia as well and see what their prices are. Thanks again! Katie - We actually booked for May 19th! Too bad, because that would have been a great deal. I was so skeptical of planning this whole event because I have never even seen the resort! I am relieved to be getting so much great feedback on how beautiful the resort is! I will email you! Hi Lynn P. Yes, I went with a noon wedding. I wasn't happy about it initially, but my travel agent says it gets pretty hot there, so that would be an ok time. I am just going to have to put together a fun itinerary to pass the time :-) We are a pretty young crowd so I don't think anyone will be too opposed to getting the party started early. (Unless they have hangovers from the night before!) We are flying out of Detroit, and Delta had the only direct flight, plus the $ back was pretty enticing. I'm trying to find a cool way to spend it that will be fun for everyone there! I still have yet to book a photographer and a hair stylist. I am skeptical about booking someone there that I have never dealt with. Any suggestions?

Hi Lynn P. If you book through Delta, you get a free complimentary wedding that includes a beach or gazebo wedding, and semi-private dinner in one of the restaurants. It also includes cake and champagne for up to 10 people. I am expecting 25 guests, so I'm trying to get an idea of what types of add-ons I will need. You need 25 total nights booking to get this. I read somewhere if you have 35 bookings, you can also get a free reception. Thanks for the French restaurant recommendation. My travel agent also suggested it, so that's what I'll be using! :-)
