  1. I am struggling with this a little too however it seems that some places are cheaper than others. I am trying to chose between the Barcelo Maya Colonial and the Grand Pallidium Colonial. It seems from what I can gather that any guestlist over 11 at Barcelo will force you into a private function but 20 people are covered for the meal and it is 24USD for every one over 20. For the Grand Pallidium however they will accommodate up to 40 in an a la carte but if you go over 40 you will pay 50-60USD for every guest over 8. As you can see it seems to vary quite a bit. So I would be really interested to see what others say about large groups. What resort are you being married at?
  2. Tanya Hope to be married 1st week Mar/2011 Looking at Grand Pallidium Colonial and Barcelo Maya Colonial We are going to have 40-60 guests so we are unable to have the reception in an A la Carte. It looks like Barcelo will provide 20 meals as part of the wedding package and then only charge $24 per plate for each additional guest. The Pallidium looks like it will include 8 guests as part of the wedding package and then each additional guest will be 50-60 USD per plate which seems quite a bit more. Is anyone else experiencing these differences between resorts? How do you chose if you want to try and stay on a bit of a budget? Any feedback about either hotels receptions would be much appreciated.
