  1. Hey Amanda, I am also getting married in Feb 2011 at the Riu, I looked at the website of the photographer that is offered by the hotel and it's horrible. Can you tell me if the photographer you used Tim Allen has a website? I am having trouble locating it. Also can you tell me what your overall experience was with the hotel on your wedding day and throughout the week? Did you have to pay extra to have the outside photographer come in or just 100 for a visitor's pass? Any information would be great and helpful. We are doing the free wedding package and are only having about 10 ppl, it's going to be very simple so we are not going to worry about decorations, etc. What restaurant would you recommend for the reception? We are thinking of buying a tour/excursion for our guests, can you recommend any? The thing that is worrying me the most is the photographer. We have a super small budget and only want some photos of ceremony with our guests and the rest on the beach. We would like to do a TTD session another day if possible. Thanks
  2. Hello, My fiancee and I have decided to elope to Hawaii for our wedding/honeymoon. We plan on just getting married at a beach (if possible) where we will say our vows and then take some amazing photos, then go to a beautiful dinner. Very low key and no one will come with us. It is more or less to make it official and also cause I have a beautiful dress I want photos with. I'm wondering if anyone has done something similir in Oahu before, any insights, tips on how to same money and have something memorable will be appreciated! We plan on staying two weeks (most likely a few days here, then a week in another island, haven't decided yet) and our budget is 4000 although our flights will be cheap since I work for an airline. We would rather stay in apartments or cottages near or oceanfront to save money but maybe on the day of our ceremony something nicer. So if anyone has tips on best private beaches for ceremony or a planner that can assist, hotels etc it will be appreciated!! Thanks and sorry for the long post! I'm still getting used to this forum and maybe I posted too many topics in one thread!
  3. Hi and Welcome!! Good for you for getting involved, Good luck planning the wedding of your dreams!
  4. Hi everyone, I've been engaged for a few months, and after a few months of looking into options for our friends to attend a destination wedding, we've decided to just elope (two of us) to Hawaii and make it the trip of a lifetime on a small budget. So I'll be looking and posting here often for tips and ideas to have a very affordable ceremony and a great honeymoon. This is a great site for help!
