  1. Hello soon-to-be Maui brides and grooms! I just wanted to post very quickly about the amazing vendors that I worked with who put together a perfect wedding for my husband and I. Our coordinator, Cherise Vonae Shulman of The Perfect Wedding, did a remarkable job of organizing and putting together the most beautiful wedding! She is extraordinarily organized and responds to questions and requests so quickly! She's also very reasonable and will work with your budget. We had both our ceremony and reception at the beautiful Olowalu Plantation House- AMAZING! Our food was catered by Food for the Soul. They were wonderful to work with and the filet mignon was delicious- just melted in your mouth. Our photographer, Victor Saidov, is a photographer from the mainland (Seattle) who we flew out and not only is an amazingly talented photographer (and his brother Max too!), but both Victor and Max are a blast- they make everything fun and they truly capture the moment in all of their shots. Our DJ, Jay Langworthy, was also very talented, he picked up on the vibe and played great beats, and he also does mash-ups- so awesome! Our wedding was a dream and there is nothing I would change. Our bridal party stayed at the Papakea Resort and the Mahana- both are beautiful and reasonably priced at group rates (during the off season). It was so much fun because we had our rehearsal dinner/welcome dinner (food supplied by Costco) at the cabana at Papakea (lost our deposit because we were a bit too wild ), and then followed up the wedding with a post-wedding brunch at the Aloha Mixed Plate - so yummy! It was a perfect wedding in paradise! Â Just a fun tip- if you want to do a lei greeting for your guests go to Costco for your leis- $8.99 for a two pack! Pre-order through Maui floral.
  2. Hi there! Just wondering if anyone has experience with Food for the Soul Catering in Wailuku, Maui? Their all-inclusive package seems like a great deal! Thanks!
  3. Thank you ladies! Very excited to join! And thank you mekanabr! I will definitely check out the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. It's a daunting task trying to find the best bang for your buck when you can't easily visit but I am very excited to be planning our destination wedding. Thank you so much again for your advice!!
  4. Hello all! I'm very excited to be a part of this forum. My fiance and I would like to plan a wedding for this fall in Hawaii with about 30 or so of our closest friends and family members. We are hoping to set a date for late Sept. or early Oct. in either Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island. I've been looking at the Kona Village Resort and am wondering if this is the place for us. I've read reviews on tripadvisor and many people say it is a beautiful location but there are some complaints about it's "rustic antiquity" claiming that it's hales are outdated and it is overpriced. If anyone has any recommendations for wedding locations that are reasonably priced but beautifully located, I would appreciate the input! I'd like to go with a resort that offers a package for the ceremony and also host the reception there as well. Thanks!
