I'd also love to hear how you all go with catering companies, photographers etc - anything at all would be great! I'm planning the wedding from Sydney Australia so I'm so excited about this forum! Hi Kate, What are the prices for Loulu Palms Estate? I'm looking at private vaction properties too! Jamie
  2. Hi, I'm thinking of getting married on a private estate too! I've found one Hawaii Kai, Hawaii vacation rental by owner: 5 bedroom Oceanfront Estate rental that sleeps 15. Ocean Beachfront Banyan Tree Beach House it looks amazing on the website and they allow for weddings but charge a fee. I'm going to Hawaii on 20th May to check out venues, I have this one, Ko Olina and Turtle bay resort (yes Pura is very slow at replying unfortunately... her assistant is better), I have a meeting set with them.
  3. Thanks for the messages everyone.. it's great to hear so much encouragement! This wedding planning just consume's you doesn't it? gosh I hope i'm not the only one. If anyone of you guys have seen "Up in the Air" that's me and my FI!! Seriously... it's not even funny but its the nature of our jobs. Our mind is set on a wedding outdoors over looking the ocean, ideally have some sort of Gazebo or wedding arch followed by a BBQ reception. Is anyone looking to do something similar in Hawaii? We'll be doing a site visit hopefully in July... Jamie
  4. Hello everyone! I'm Jamie and my Fiance and I just got engaged recently in Thailand.. We have been racking our brains on wedding plans as I'm British and he's Australian and we both live (for now) in Hong Kong... so we have decided to get married in Hawaii on May 12th 2011.. I need the time to plan, slim down and relish the whole engagement... Anyone else planning a wedding in Hawaii? Jamie
