Thanks!! You too....my parents had their honeymoon in Jamaica and loved it. Of course, that was 34 years ago, but how much could change in that time, right? I'm sure it will be awesome.

Hello!! I am new to the Destinations Forum and am thinking about the Melia Caribe. I am only in the very first stages of planning, so I am just trying to get an idea of what the costs are. We are thinking that we will likely have 40-50 guests. Do you have any idea what this would cost us? Key things that we want are: good food, open bar, and a good place to dance the night away! Do you think the Melia Caribe would be a good place for this? Also, would you have any suggestions about what times of the year would be best? Our schedules are pretty flexible as we're PhD students. Hi everyone, My name is Karina. My fiance (Omid) proposed last April, but because we're both grad students, we thought we'd just take the wedding planning nice and slow. Now we are thinking we might aim for an April 2011 destination wedding, so I really need to get on this. I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum, as I have zero wedding knowledge and little time to invest in the planning. We haven't selected a location yet, so looking for advice - we're thinking a nice balance of affordable for our guests, but still fun classy. I hear Punta Cana is probably our best bet, but we are open to other places as well. Cheers! Karina
