I'm sorry you had to go through that. I would have been pissed!! Nevertheless, I think that there is at least one horror story from pretty much every hotel. I've read your post of facebook as well.. It's good to worn other brides for sure so that they can take as many steps to avoid such issues as possible.. I am getting married there April 2010 and I'm positive all will go well as I've read many reviews on many hotels and I must say the Majestic has had THE most consistant ones by far. One of the reasons why I chose that hotel. Phil is AMAZING and I really like that he's active on the forums and tries to help out as much as he can.. I'm hoping to also have him take some of my pics! I hope your wedding is spectacular!

hello ladies... i got rates for April 2010.. well i got a package rate so flight and hotel through my agent. I'm in Canada, flying out of Toronto.. I'm assuming you should have rates there by now?

Ok, so I'm pretty new to this forum (or any forum for that matter) but i'm starting to get a little worried. Are there any Secrets Silversands brides out there? I chose that Hotel because it is very contemporary looking, good food choices etc. Beach is not as good as Maroma but it is not as expensive as Maroma. The resort is pretty new.. From what I've read it opened in 2009. Nevertheless I don't hear anyone else planning a trip there or their wedding there so I'm wondering if there's something i'm missing.?? Help!

Any idea what their nightly entertainment is like? or is it a very quiet resort? Also, what would be the nearest shopping area?

"The Secrets Capri is slightly less than the Maroma Beach or Silversands, and the Excellence Riviera is between the Capri and the MB/Silversands properties in terms of price. How does anyone ever make a decision?! " I am finding that Silversands is actually much cheaper then the other two.. ? I though it made sense cause the beach is not as nice.. am i wrong?

Has anyone been to this hotel or is planning a wedding there Looks pretty good and the price is not bad but I have not come accross any postings on that location. ? Also, is this one of the hotels that does not allow outside vendors?? eg. photographers..

HELLO EVERYONE! First of all, I'd like to say that this is an awesome site and much needed!!! So hats off to those that started it. I'm newly engaged and am currently in the process of figuring out how to do this whole destination wedding. Originally I really wanted to go to Costa Rica but (for many reasons) have decided to go for Mexico and the Mayan Riviera. WHich hotel?? Well, that is my issue at the moment. The ones I would LOVE to go to seem to be a bit out of my price range. eg. Azul fives etc. So I am now considering two other hotels. Secrets Capri or the Valentin. Anyone have any advise ?? The wedding is to be held March 2010 (although I am flexible with dates too). I do want to book something soon so that I am able to give my family and friends lots of notice to book the time off and save up! It's a bit confusing though since I've never been to Mexico and am a bit worried about chosing the wrong resort... been doing lots of research! and reading lots of your posts!!! Ok so I won't blabber any further and will keep you psoted on my progress! Ciao!
