This allows for flexibility once you get down there as so many brides change their minds about free/private dinner, gazebo/beach ceremony, having/not having a reception. You don't have to put deposits down, and you pay I believe upon checkout. (other brides correct me if I'm wrong). It's the Dominican, they are so relaxed and care-free there. They have such a different lifestyle, and it reflects in the way they do destination weddings. My fiance is Dominican, and being with him has helped me understand why the co-ordinators do what they do. I believe you'll get everything you wanted, plus more that you never even expected Happy Planning! Thank you khomac! This is actually the reason we wanted a destination wedding instead of having it in Toronto, but while I was planning a Mexico wedding, everything had its deadline and payment due on certain date... DR is different and I love this lay-back style
  2. Hell Majestic Brides, when do you have to pay the wedding costs to the resort? The coordinator I talked to never mentioned the due date and she said I could give her the guest count when we meet at the resort. It looks like they are very flexible and easy going but I wonder if everything could be delivered the way it's planned.

  4. Hello Majestic Brides, Have anyone used the resort Photographer? I am planning a wedding in November but the photog I really like was booked for pretty much all November so I am thinking of just using resort photog. Thanks!

This way you can save the money and invest it in extras instead! We saved ourselves over $2000 so now we're going with a mariachi band and I might order it for extra time! Thank you Beachbride!! I was thinking if I have a party over 40 ppl, I would have to go for BBQ buffet, and it's great to see these group menu options
  7. Hello girls, I have seen people talking about $12 meals a couple of times but I don't see it on the private banquet list. Could someone tell me what it is? Thannk you.

I am planning to have isle runner instead of plank so it would be easier for me to walk on.

So my TA said she was advised we should get everyone in our group to book now before the time deadline on the rate quote I got runs out or we could be quoted new rates upwards of $300 more per person! Just thought I'd warn anyone out there that could be in the same boat as me. I'm lucky enough to have a 3 week deadline so I have time to get after my guests! Good news is apparently Signature is doing their "Price Guarantee" again for the winter season...this is a big reason why I wanted to book with Signature...for my departure in November, if on September 15th the prices have dropped to below what my group rates are, Signature will do a one-time price match and match the lowest rates for my entire group! This is so handy with getting people to book early...you can explain to them that they won't get shafted by sales later on! Hi Beachbride2009, would you mind forwarding me your agent's info? We have some guests flying from Calgary but don't know which agent is good there. Thank you

As far as our photographer goes, it has already been pre-appreoved since he will be staying as a guest at the resort as well (they require either a min of a 3 night stay or the $500/day fee). We do not have to pay an additional fee on top of his stay. Hello Trayce2222, Thanks for sharing your decision making process. Who do you have to pay the licence fee to?

Maybe they're waiting to get a better handle on the economy, the resort, and demand? I am leaving in late November as well, and one of the travel agents told me Nov is considered the next winter rate and probably won't be available till spring time.

Happy New Year girls~ I totally agree!!! I wish there were a dance club in the resort so I wouldn't have to take the whole group to Cancun
  14. Hi Andrea, I am sorry to hear that. I've also heard a lot of good things about Karisma resorts so you will still have a beautiful wedding.
