Yes it does depend on the setting and maybe what's going on with your body that day. The doc who performed laser on my chin and underarms used the same exact settings at each visit but on two occasions i suffered "minor" burns on my chin and nothing on the underarm. She thought that was odd The area is small about size of a quarter and I immediately started with some neosporin. I've been doucing it with lightener creams and cocoa and it's barely there anymore.

I asked if they could do a test on my skin and she said yes. Wish me luck! I really dont want to grow a beard anytime soon! Sounds like we are in same boat. Please find out the name of the machine and post after your appointment. Good luck and just think happy thoughts while on the table!!! I have had underarms and small area on chin done. Underarms 3 treatments have been fine. One underarm more sensitive then the other. Chin burned at 3 tries. Not doing it again!! My doc is Indian and is suppose to specialize in ethnic skin, but she doesn't have the "darker" skin perfected yet. Her words.. Oh well, good luck again!! Netty
  3. It's ok. I've found a few things on-line that I may purchase. I'm also using cocoa butter to get rid of some of the darkness, but wanted something a little stronger.
  4. Do you suffer from this problem? Have you found a solution? Helppppp! Dress is strapless. Marks not bad but hyperpigmented nonetheless. Of course we want to be as close to perfect as possible. I have 4 months left!! Thanks, Netty
  5. Ladies, If you marry at the RIU Ochi and use the salon there for hair or makeup, please post your experience and some pictures. Thanks, Nettyboop

She looks beautiful and very natural I might add.

She just happens to be a relative who is also in my wedding party. I had not planned on paying her entire expense for travel, maybe half, but she thought I was going to do total. What arrangements have you made with your stylist?
  10. Thanks Mich, Yes, we needed this thread!! I'm blessed to have a friend here in Delaware who is a MAC Genius! She works for Mac but does work on the side. I have a couple of consultations set up with her and will purchase whatever products I need to take with me. Chandlyn at the RIU informed me that the girls are well qualified girls that she would use herself. I'm going to prep before going with my stylist and pray for the best. Hopefully this thread will flourish with some great pics and pointers.
  11. Have you used or plan to use the hair stylist/make up staff at the Riu Ochi? If so, could you please post your pictures or give some feedback. My date is for 8/16/08 and my planned traveling stylist may not make it to Jamaica. Thanks, Netty
  12. Hi, I did try multiple searches but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I need information from any ethnic brides that have had hair and make-up done with the stylist as the Riu Ocho Rios. My wedding date is 8/16 and a guest/relative that was suppose to travel with me may not make it to Jamaica. Any feedback or pictures?? Thanks, Netty

I agree when would you get to party on the sand with friends and family again!! sounds like a great plan!
