I'm planning to get married at The Royal also in January. I had the same concerns that you did but everything else about the resort seems so great. I read a lot of reviews on tripadvisor and they are all so good. I also like the fact that you don't have to make reservations for dinner and it is so close to town. I'm surprised to hear that you heard back from the WC so quickly. I have read some negative things at some resorts about the wedding coordinators really talking to you before a few months before the wedding. I am also considering maybe having the wedding at a different site. Good luck with everything. I'll let you know if I find out any good tips.

Hi I'm thinking of getting married at The Royal Playa del Carmen in January 2008. All of the reviews I have read have been wonderful but I have not been able to find many reviews of weddings. Has anyone out there gotten married there? Any advice would be great! Julie
