Help! Trying to decide between Paradisus Punta Cana and Palma Real

Recommended Posts

We were planning on Palma Real for the ceremony and then stay in The Reserve for the week. My fiancé and I are eloping alone. Now we have decided to pay for both of our photographers to stay on site and it makes a big price difference. Honest opinions from those who have been there... Is the level between the two hotels worth the price difference??? We live in Miami and will not be seeing the resorts beforehand:(!!! Thank you!!!

I got married at the PPC in Nov 2012, I did a site visit to both the prior year.  We had 50 guests, and we stayed at the PPC Reserve for a week, as did all our guests because we were all upgraded.  The service level is wonderful at both properties, but Palma Real will be more expensive.  If you know you're going to stay at the Reserve, I'd say save yourself some money, book your wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana, the hotel will usually upgrade you free to the Reserve or Royal section because you are the wedding couple.  Same goes for Palma Real.  If y our heart is set at the Palma Real which is just a bit more upscale that PPC, go ahead and book it, and let them upgrade you for free to their Reserve or Royal section.  There is another forum on here for PPC brides, and I believe there is also another one for Palma Real.  Take your time to read thru both, you'll get alot of insight.  Good luck!

I stayed at both resorts! the royal service in paradisus punta cana and the reserve at palma real!  Loved both, but we opted to have our wedding at palma real!  I am getting married on the 19th there!  definitely better food and more upscale at palma real the reserve is absolutely amazing!  great deals right now too for both hotels thru solmelia.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
