Jamaica Wedding Tips - Grand Palladium

Recommended Posts

We just got back from our wedding/honeymoon in Lucea Jamaica.  We got married at the Grand Palladium.  I will admit, in the beginning planning stages, I was not happy with the responses but once I found this website and actually got there, things went much better.

For flowers...if you want an upgrade, do not work directly with the resort.  Work directly with their vendor.  They use Tia Flora and I not only got an AWESOME price but the flowers were absolutely beautiful.  Exactly what I pictured in my head.

For the DJ, we used Irie Jamz Entertainment.  Damane did a great job.  Even with the power outages, our reception was so much fun, some of the other guest wanted to figure out how to get in our party.  We did have to provide him with the music we wanted to hear, but after that, he used his skills to make sure everything flowed perfectly!  Everyone danced and never sat down!  FUN TIMES

For the resort, the wedding location was Perfect, the background for pictures was perfect.  There were a few hiccups during the ceremony (the minster didn't follow my outline), but at that point, I was just glad to be marrying my Prince Charming.

The reception dinner was AMAZING.  I totally would have paid the per plate price again for the quality of food and service we received.

The photography, I hired an outside vendor - Marcia Roberts Photography.  Very reasonably priced and wonderful to work with.  I can't wait to see the pictures as the photographers had very unique ideas and the scenery was beautiful.  I'm glad I didn't use the resort photographers.

All in all, there is still a bit of stress when going destination but that's because you want you day to be perfect.  I also had 55 people I wanted to make sure enjoyed themselves as well!

Perfect Wedding....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
