Am I the only Riu Carube bride on this site? Feels like it!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies.... I have been trying to find fellow brides who are getting married or who have already got married at the riu caribe in cancun Mexico. I have been very unsuccessful. Then I tried finding others getting married at either of the other two riu hotels in the cancun hotel zone and again I have been unsuccessful... we all share a wc and I would love to share info with fellow brides but I can't find any! Is anyone out there??!

Yes we just got back from there in March 28 and it was AMAZING!  We have been to Cancun before and loved it but this resort seemed like such a better fit for us so we decided to get married there!  Now obviously that means I have alot to do before then, but I do have the wedding confirmed with one of their packages (ROYAL) as I think our guest list will be limited to 15.  This is a second marriage for us so we are not going too elaborate, but I am wondering...I saw your website (awesome by the way!) and saw you are booking in July 2011.  I am still trying to get a good rate (HOPEFULLY $1300 per person flight etc) as we have 4 kids we are bringing!  Just curious on what rate you are getting IF you care to share?  and do you think your travel agent would be helpful?  I was looking through Apple and right now lowest rate is $1723 so I want to wait, BUT I am going to freak out the closer it gets to December.  So I am just super excited to be able to share this with people who are going thru the same thing!!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also got the royal package....we are estimating no more then 50 guests but well have to upgrade a few things. We loved he resort I think it is just perfect! Altough we posted pr travel agent information to the site my fiance and I are actually waitng till after july of this year to book rates are way too outrageous to book this far in advance although I would love too (people could book now they are just going to pay top dollar) ..here's the trouble I am going to have with booking our flight/stay is when we went in September. We paid 1600 for both of us for flight and a 7 day stay!!! Ughh so I am going to be a stickler when it comes to getting a good rate! But my travel agent is amazing and has a really grea relationship with the resort....I think that if anyone could get you a good rae it would be her! She is so nice I would definitely recommend her! I have gotten so much useful info from her and the resorts planning has been a piece of cake! I am so excited to finally have a fellow riu caribe bride to talk with!

Well thank you so much. I may email her if you dont mind!   I know destination weddings are ideal for us b/c they take care of most of the details but I am so excited to have found this site because I am starting to get a little overwhelmed by what all I need to do so it is going to be nice to share those moments and see what moments others have!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
