Any Ritz-Carlton Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

I am still debating whether to get married at a resort or not. I never thought in a million years that 1. I would ever get married...I'm that type of resistant gal and 2. that I would get married at a hotel/resort. After a little research I decided against Dreams/Palace resorts due to their lack of flexibility (apparently I can't get married in their crystal chapel overlooking the ocean because I'm not catholic, despite them saying the chapel isn't even recognized by the church, odd) and requirement of all guests staying at the resort or buying a day pass for them and I can't use my own photographer at some of these places...what?

I decided to look at non-all inclusive resorts just to see what I would be getting myself into price-wise just to have the flexibility of my own vendors and I found the Ritz-Carlton! Shocking, I thought this would be way outta my range but their package starts at $129.00 per person plus taxes and gratuity. This is for the ceremony, cocktail hour and plated reception with one hour open bar. They don't require guests to stay at the resort which means my broke friends can stay at the nearby Hilton for $100 a night.

So I have to ask...

1. Why aren't more people talking about the Ritz on this forum? Is there something I don't know about? lol

2. Are there any Ritz brides planning right now, maybe you can fill me in on some of what you've encountered good or bad?

3. I only read one past review of a Ritz bride, are there anymore out there that can share their reviews?

Any feedback is helpful!

Dee

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
