St. Pete's? Maybe?

Well, I wanted a Disney wedding. I wanted a beach wedding. I think I've found the best of both worlds. I'm thinking about getting married in St. Pete's and having a honeymoon at Disney. I loved the idea of a Disney wedding, but in order to keep the costs reasonable, you're limited to 18 guests, then you have to pay a ridiculous amount for a reception. I loved the idea of a Caribbean beach wedding, but I found myself wishing I could still go to Disney. FI loves the beach at St. Pete's, it's not too far from Orlando, no limits on guests, I think I've found my happy medium :)

The only thing is...

I've never been there! lol I have NO CLUE as to where to start, if we should go through a wedding at a hotel, if we should be getting a wedding coordinator and planning it just like a regular at-home wedding, I'm lost! lol Any ladies married at St. Pete's or living there than can help? I'm thinking St. Pete's only because FI has been there before, but any suggestions for other parts of Florida are definitely welcome :) We may even stick to Disney and have it at one of their more "beachy" resorts. I'm so indecisive! lol

My FI and I got engaged on St. Pete's Beach and I really like it there, we even saw a wedding on the beach that was really nice at the Grand Plaza hotel. Simple but elegant. I considered getting married there as well, but decided on Key West instead.

My suggestion to you would be to either look into a hotel wedding or even check out Sarasota and Longboat Key areas just south of St. Pete's. We went there several times on our trip and really liked the quaint feel of the Sarasota area. Good luck!

Hi. I agree with Kwaits. St. Pete area is really nice. I would not hesitate to go there. I was married in 2009 in that area and did the planning all remotely and it was really easy. I could literally list out all of the vendors I used if you want me to. I was thrilled with everyone but the pastor, florist, photographer and chef we used were over the top excellent. Let me know if you want more details. We were married in Tampa but the vendors in that area jump between Tampa and St. Pete all the time. BTW - Feb and March in FL is amazing! Great date for a wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
