My partner and I got married in Playa del Carmen November 2013. As a same sex couple, we were very nervous about selecting a photographer. We had a hard enough time finding a resort that was ok with our wedding. We knew the photographer would be with us all day, and we wanted to make sure they would be able to put us as ease. My partner and I are very shy and super awkward around a camera. After months of combing through reviews and portfolios we decided to hire Take It! I have to say this was probably the best decision we made in our whole year of wedding planning. So let me tell you about Lupe and Agustin.

The Photographers

Where to begin… After spending two days with Lupe and Agustin I am convinced they could put anyone at ease. Spending time with them was like spending time with friends; friends whose job it is to make you feel beautiful and taken care of. Lupe is kind and bubbly and extremely artistic. Agustin is hilarious and creative and has an eye for very unique photos. He even got in the water with an underwater camera for our Trash the Dress session. These two fit so well with our wedding party. So many guests came up to me after to say how much they liked Lupe and Agustin. And that was before they saw the photos!

Lupe and Agustin are extremely professional. I didn’t want our photographers to be front and centre during the ceremony because I spent a lot of time making it meaningful and I wanted the guests to be able to pay attention to the words being said. Even though I never mentioned this to Lupe and Agustin, I did not notice them once during the whole ceremony.

These two are also very hard working. They spent over 8 hours with us on the wedding day. They then picked us up the next day for another 5 hours for our Trash the Dress Shoot (which I would highly recommend). They took us to an amazing secluded beach over an hour out of the way! And they actually listened to us. Many months before the wedding they sent us a questionnaire about what we wanted from the photos. For example, I wanted candid shots, artistic shots and vibrant colours. I did not want unnatural posed photos (like us trying to look seductive, which would not have gone well…). I didn’t mention this again, yet when I saw the photos, they were exactly what we wanted!

The Photos

But I’m sure everyone is interested in the photos. We received them yesterday and were just blown away. Lupe and Agustin captured vibrant colours, breathtaking scenery, artistic details and, most importantly, precious moments between my partner and I. We looked so natural and happy in all the photos. You could never tell that we are shy. My friends have commented that we could be models. Imagine that! The best thing about these two is they are both incredible photographers with slightly different approaches. The result is a series of photos from different angles and perspectives. Our package came with 200 photos. That seems like a lot, but it took us 3 weeks to make our choices because all the photos were so good! I can’t say enough how much I love them!

Another great thing was the price. Take It! provided a very complete package for a rate that beat the competition hands down. We still couldn’t believe all the extras we got in our package!

The Recommendation

I know this review has been gushing, but seriously, these photographers are worth it. I would not hesitate to recommend Lupe and Agustin to anyone.
