I have nothing but good things to say about Blue Petal Weddings.  Like another reviewer, I don't live in Vancouver and was initially a little uncertain about working with a destination wedding specialist that was so far away; however, my mind was put at ease by the prompt responses to all of my e-mails (if not the same business day, then the next).

When I first started to plan my wedding, I knew I wanted to go somewhere down south, and that it would be a very small, simple wedding (immediate family only).  Becky had asked me to tell her a little about myself, and then delicately suggested that I didn't really sound like much of a 'resort person'; maybe I would prefer a different sort of venue?  This is a bang-on assessment -- I have been a backpacker/camper/hosteller for almost all of my travels, but I really thought that resorts were the only option available for a destination wedding venue.  Based on her ideas, we ended up choosing to get married on the rooftop of the Hotel Parque Central in Havana, Cuba -- a beautiful, historic hotel in Old Havana.  It was the perfect venue for us, and for our families as well. 

I want to thank the whole team at Blue Petal Weddings - without them, I wouldn't have even thought of trying an off-resort wedding, let alone been able to do all the planning for the details.  I know all wedding plans have their hiccups (for mine, the event co-ordinator at the Hotel Parque Central left her position just as we were ready to book), but when I started to panic, the planners at Blue Petal were able to reassure me that everything would be fine, and then quickly get everything back on track.  I'd also like to point out that the whole planning job was done very quickly; from the first e-mail I sent to the actual wedding date was less than 6 months, so this gives an idea of how organized and professional this company is.

I know that most people planning a destination wedding are looking for the resort option, but I wanted to let others know that if you were considering something a little different, the team at Blue Petal is also fantastic at putting together a custom-fit dream wedding!
