Yeah there isn't much information on how the ceremony goes. What the person conducting the ceremony will say and so on... I wish there was more info on that incase I wanted to change something. We aren't very traditional and would rather not do the traditional ceremony. We want something that represents us. My cuticles and nails know exactly how stressed I am. Poor things have seen better days. :-/

They meet with you once you get there and they fill in a spread sheet, the coordinator handles everything from there and they do a great job

  2. The attached photos are iphone photos guests took, our professional photos are not ready just yet.

Our (6pm 5/14) wedding was beautiful and the reception was so much fun! The WC (Gaby) was great. It was perfect for photos and dark and hour later.

Loreto at the spa did my hair and makeup and it was lovely.

We brought our own DJ, Photographer, minister, classical guitarist friends with us in exchange for their services, and I made/ bought all our decorations and paid a $300 set up/clean up fee. I brought pictures with detailed instructions as to how I wanted everything set up, they did a perfect job.

I made my bouquet from fabric flowers and made the bridesmaid fans because flowers were so pricy.

We gave our bridesmaids a color pallet to chose whatever short dress they wanted (or already had) and our groomsmen wore the same $20 shirt and whatever kahaki pants and brown shoes they had, it worked out lovely.

We did the beach BBQ, everything was good except the steak (overcooked) and the dessert table was amazing!!! My friend did the plated food when we met there 3 years ago and the BBQ was better.

They charge to put welcome bags in the room so we just walked around with a bunch and passed them out when we ran into our guests, it worked nicely.

    Resort:

A couple guests complained about the phone calls to tell them to come to the concierge desk, they said the resort tried to push them timeshare options and one guest had an issue with their return shuttle not showing up but those were the only negative things I heard from our guests.

I booked with Lomas. When you arrive they send you to confirm your return flight info right away, I found this irritating as we were staying a week (they try to upsell you excursions at the same time)

If you are going in a big group I breaking up into small groups to eat at any restaurant other than spoon. Expect a wait at the Italian food place they have tons of open tables and seemingly enough staff but there is still a wait.

    Excursion:

We did Xcaret it was beautiful, the river float was the highlight we booked it through "My Cancun Tours" online but you can book with the resort too. they have another park called explore there, there is more to do and it is all included, Xcaret tries to upsell a lot of things.

I did Tulum last visit and that was a blast, such an amazing beach!!!

I forgot to include a photo of the bridesmaid fans, they were easy to pack and everyone loved them

  3. PAST AZUL SENSATORI BRIDES...if you brought your own gazebo sheers...where did you purchase them? If online, could you please share site?

    http://www.amazon.com/yards-Sheer-Organza-Fabric-Bolt/dp/B007KRV7KS?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

I used this bolt from Amazon, I handed it over to the WC. We paid a $300 fee for our set up/clean up, they cut the bolt and hung them as we requested.

  4. Our Mexico wedding isn't until May 14th but we got married in the ICU in NJ right before my husbands father passed and had another ceremony for his Mom, who is terminally ill with Cancer and, sadly won't be in attendance in Mexico.

Have any of you ladies seen, done, or plan do do any type of memorial at your wedding? I was thinking an empty seat with flowers? Does anyone have any better ideas? I don't know what, if anything would be appropriate :,(

  5. I bought these canvas bags, it was cheaper to do a big lot so I have so many extras!! If anyone is interested in them let me know I'll part with them at a discounted rate, the little ones are about 9x9" (without the handle) and are $1 each plus the exact cost of shipping. the big ones look the same but are about 15x15" (without the handle) and are $2 each plus the exact cost of shipping.

  6. I am struggling with flowers. The bouquets seem very expensive but maybe that's a normal price for flowers??? I have heard ppl mention real feel flowers but I have never seen them in real life. Are they good? Cheaper? Could I also use as centerpieces without it looking too "cheap"?

My friend used real touch lillies for her wedding and no one could tell the difference. I am using pretty wooden fans and I attached a flower and a ribbon for my bridesmaids, I made myself a pinterest inspired fabric flower bouquet and it is stunning. Think outside the box and check out pinterest, you would be amazed what you can do especially if you are crafty or enlist a crafty friend.

Has anyone previously chosen Xcaret at an optional excursion for their wedding weekend? Any pointers or advice?

  7.

You can use candles. the wedding I went to there had floating candle centerpieces. I confirmed myself recently just to check.

Hi girls, I hope you are having a happy wedding planning weekend!

Does anyone know if we are allowed to use floating candles as centerpieces? I'm not sure if there are restrictions with lighting candles.

  8. The beach is like any regular beach, it doesnt have crystal clear blue water but becuase it is so private I prefer to get married there (Not getting hitched next to people on beach chairs in bathing suits). There is a swim up bar at the hotel, people spent most of their time there. When my friend had her wedding there (same wedding I met my fiancee at) she had arranged a shuttle through the hotel to take people on a day tour of the Tulum Ruins which included some beach time there (gorgous beach!), we all paid a little out of pocket for the tour but it was worth it!

Hi @@blushxo - why don't you set up an iPod with really great speakers and make a list for the night? Have the flamenco guitar for the 45 min and have the iPod for the rest of the night. Do you have a really animated guest/friend who may be willing to MC on your behalf?

What about something like this? I bought dollar tree platters and painted with them with chalkboard paint, I had these on a table at my sisters wedding shower. They arent too big, you could easliy pack a few of those with some small easels.

  10. Have any previous brides used window panes or chalkboard frames/signage for reception seating charts? Similar to this? http://pinterest.com/pin/32862272256033235/

If so, how did you go about setting this up? Any feedback is appreciated!

My friend did a chalkboard like that for her wedding (you can buy chalk markers that you have to wash to get off). She had it standing up on an easel on a table. You could get something similar to this

  11. THIS IS A MESSAGE TO ALL OF YOU (FUTURE BRIDES) READ!!!

The Mojito lounge DOES NOT have a DJ any longer due to complaints from building 4 (family with children) the resort moved all to the Teens Breeze which is a game room (looks like a sports bar) during the day and club with DJ at night

It is good to know because I had all my itineraries printed and welcome letters to continue the "after party at the mojito"  after the reception.

Mojito is open with all the 35 mojitos and drinks, but only jazz  more like a lounge, nothing to dance, it is ashame because it is beautiful and it has the space...I was sad while I was there BUT it is about the people you are with....and that made it for us :) so we partied every night at the Teens lounge, even before the wedding LOL (do not do that) I was okay though :)

The teens lounge has the live music and DJ now.

The top roof has the shows at night for families and adults.

@@LaurenR I think they are strict with the payments for sure. I paid later than they request (So I should correct "last minute") because I was going back and forth with flowers, cake, and the mariachi I wanted but did not want to pay until I knew I really wanted it. I was all about the money and still wanted a beautiful wedding, I looked at it as where I wanted to spend most of my money, so that is why I did not make payments on time, I needed to be 100% sure before I paid.

ALL ALL was amazing...I can stop thinking about it[/quote

Thank you so much for the heads up, we planned on partying in the Mojio lounge after our wedding as well. It is special to is, my fiancée and I met there at my friends destination wedding! We might have to make a mojito bar gathering another night if people still have dancing shoes on.

  12. Hi gals! We are getting married at Azul Sensatori in September.

We are on a super tight budget so I am going crazy trying to find ways to cut costs at Sensatori. The prices they charge for the add-ons  are outrageous!

I have a million questions but I'd like to start asking what you have done for centerpieces and decorations! I am concerned about  how heavy they will be and customs restrictions.

I am also worried about the bouquets.

Any ideas or pictures to share?

These are my $10 center pieces. I went to dollar tree and used bowls and glued them to a candlestick (using e6,000 glue), I hot glued on white petals from dollar tree. The plate and stand were 99 cent store I painted over some cheesy saying and I'll paint the table numbers on. The most expensive was my vintage cordial glass, I bought them at three dollars a piece from an eBay auction, I'm in love with them. It will be annoying to lug it down there but if you give a couple friends a carry on you can split it up and customs/weight won't be an issue.

I used Pinterest as a reference and I handmade the flowers for my bouquet and hot glue them onto a Styrofoam ball, and added my grandmothers vintage earrings and some rhinestone brooches. For the bridesmaids bouquets I used some flowers from dollar tree and trimmed down the stems and added ivory colored ribbon, they turned out well for only costing a couple bucks each. post-282822-0-37768300-1429835900_thumb.jpgpost-282822-0-55960000-1429835706_thumb.jpg

  13. Hello everyone!

    I have a few questions. . .

Any opinions on plated vs buffet?

I have 2 friends with real gluten allergies, do they offer special meals for food allergies at the resort?

I am bringing my own wedding table decor and lanterns, our wedding is at 6pm, when do they allow us to set up? do they provide a stool for hanging lanterns/ect?

It is challenging to get ahold of my WC

    Thanks!!

    Carrie

I see that brides have bought their own material for the gazebo, does the hotel hang it for you? Is there a fee for hanging them? If you are allowed to hang them yourself and if so will they supply a ladder?

    Thanks

    Carrie
