I used that promotional cocktail party to have a party the night before the wedding and it was great. We didn't have a cocktail party before the wedding reception and it saved us a lot of money. We just had guests meet at one if the bars and drink for free. I would recommend it! Also, I have some leftover favors that I didn't end up using (10 white wedding parasols and 10 starfish bottle stoppers from The Knot). I am selling them on Ebay if anyone is interested

They don't give you conditioner. It is a 2 in 1 shampoo FYI. Also, I don't remember a difference between the pool deck and terrace. When we had a party at one of the jacuzzis (it was wood planks) everyones heels were getting stuck in the cracks and it made it a little hard for dancing.

I did not use the resort photographer, but because I bought a package that included a photo shoot I used it for a different party which I wouod recommend so you get your money's worth. The resort photographers weren't bad, but there was a big difference between their photos and my outside photographers. I used Life Long Studios out of Tampa and they were unbelievable.

I ended up being upgraded from the ballroom to El Patio, but the ballroom is beautiful in person, much better than the pictures.

I may have to add you as a friend before you can see them. I would write a review but everything was great, I have no complaints. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I will let you know. Having a destination wedding at DRC was the best decision I ever made, it was so much fun (and easy!)

Can you tell me what part of the resort did this bride and groom have their ceremony? It does not look familiar and I love the canopy look. Also, can you confirm if they did their reception in the ballroom.

Hello! That is the terrace of Desires which is used as a backup rain location. It is really pretty. From what Ayahamint told me you can not reserve it because they serve food there normally. You can request to have it as your rain location though.

Ceremony was at the gazebo at 6pm and we got a free upgrade from the Ballroom to El Patio (8-1) which was stunning. They were using the ballroom for a different event. The ballroom in person is beautiful. I will post pictures as I get them. We also had a party the night before the wedding at one of the jacuzzis which was a blast, let me know if toy have any questions!

Ayahamint and she was wonderful, very accomondating! I noticed she included decorations that we didnt even pay for. She's great!

Having a destination wedding was so much fun and the resort was absolutely beautiful with perfect weather everyday. You all will love it! Having a wedding there is very easy. I know it seems confusing and stressful when you are not there, but one of the best parts of having a destination wedding is that it is more fun and less stress, so enjoy! As long as you have looked at the options and have an idea of what you want, it is so easy once you are there.

Lindsayczach thank you so so so much for the review! It can be so stressful to plan a wedding with such little communication from the resort so a positive review makes me feel so great about everything, thank you! A couple questions for you:

1. Did you do any outside activities during your stay?

2. How was transportation to the airport?

3. How did you fly with your dress?

4. Was the ballroom well air conditioned?

5. Did you pay for the wedding with credit card or cash? Can you pay before you get to the resort?

If anyone has answers to these i would appreciate it.

Hi fellow Brides! This website is amazing, I am getting so much information and I feel much better about my wedding. I am getting married at DRC on June 12, 2014 and I can't wait. I chose the ballroom for the reception to stay out of the heat because my family LOVES to dance! The only problem is I can't find pictures of it except for the one stock photo they provide. I want the entire ballroom because I may have over 100 people and I don't want to be crowded. Now I am wondering if it rains if they will divide up the ballroom for the other wedding on that day. Does anyone have any information about this, or any pictures of the ballroom? Anything would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Congrats everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm getting married at DRC in June and am doing the reception in the ballroom. I would LOVE if someone could post pics of the ballroom. All I can find is their stock photo. Who was your photographer?   It's exciting to see a reception in one of their ballrooms, my wedding is on June 14, 2014 and chose to have the reception in the ballroom because I want a more private wedding and want it to end after midnight.  Did you originally choose the ballroom or was it because of bad weather? Was the music from the Desires Bar next to the ballrooms a problem during your reception?  I have so many questions to ask you, I haven't seen many people using the ballroom, or coming from Houston! I'm currently living in Dallas but have most of my guests and family coming from Houston. Do you mind sharing info on your travel arrangements? Did you use a travel agency or did you do it through the resort?  Sorry for the long message I just REALLY got excited to see your pictures lol Thanks!!

I want to be able to enjoy being with my family when we get to Dreams Riviera Cancun. If I plan an early trip for my fiance and I to visit and take care of wedding planning, will i be able to finish all the agreements prior to the actual wedding week? Any comments would be great. Thanks"
