  1. Hello everyone!

We recently were married at the Barcelo and we used

    *

Jaime Glez Photography. Him and his wife were very personable and were fun to be around! All the guests at my wedding are still raving about how awesome they were. It almost seemed as if they were guests and not our photographers. He even broke out some awesome dance moves on the dance floor! It was like having a long lost friend at my wedding.

When I was researching photography I found Jaime, but was concerned because there were not many reviews on him. I decided to take a chance after looking at his portfolio (it was amazing).....THANK GOD I DID! It also helped that his pricing was WAY better than almost all of the other photographers!

My photos turned out awesome and he captured all the right moments. The best part of our package was our video slideshow....it was incredible and I could tell that it took time...He did not just randomly throw pictures to music. There was flow and re-captured the ambiance and mood of the night.

I hired Jaime for the full 8 hours. He EVEN did well beyond the 8 hours trying to capture all the wonderful moments. My husband and myself were amazed that Jaime would be so giving, that should tell you that he is not there trying to make a profit. He is there to make the bride and her entourage feel amazing and to capture all the moments of the day. I will also say that acouple days before the wedding (since I booked him into the hotel as per the hotels policy), he wanted a meet and greet and asked us about our story and how we came to this moment in our lives....He listened and took in everything that we were saying. He even offered to do a mini photo session that night (we didn't because time did not permit).

If you are a bride and are struggling with the decision of who to use for your wedding photography, I suggest that you use Jaime Glez Photography. He was kind, professional, thoughtful, and has a keen eye for capturing the moments (small or big) of the big day.

I have already thought about re-booking Jaime the next time we are in Mexico for anniversary photos... :)

Jaime was not just a photographer, but a friend! Any brides that would like more information please message me! I am happy to help as I know how stressful it is! Just remember that the coordinators are professionals and everything will turn out even better than you could ever imagine! Happy planning ladies!

  3. You will need to pay for the 2 adults..... Such a scam, if u can wait try And wait for Barcelo days. I just got married there July 5 and I booked my photographers in to the beach for 330usd and they got a free upgrade to colonial. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask!

Sorry for the double post yesterday! Oops! I came across another question regarding outside vedors. Sounds like I will be booking two nights at Barcelo Beach for my outside photographer fees, cheaper then the $500 fee for sure. However, with the photography package I booked, I'm going to have two photographers. Does that mean, when booking those two nights at the Beach, I need to pay for TWO adults and not one? Because that makes the price go up quite a bit I just realized. I'm guessing I will need to do that so both photographers can be in the resort without having to pay for a day pass as well. I'm just wondering what other people did if they had more then one outside photographer at their wedding.
  4. Here's a question regarding outside vendors... If people were wondering...I just booked an outside DJ, Discomovil (WAY cheaper then the resorts btw), and if you use their generator ($200) you do NOT have to pay an outside DJ fee. Their deposit was only $100 as well...kind of nice. We also booked an outside photographer, Ivan Luckie (his work is awesome)...and our option, like stated in here before, was paying either a fee of $500 or paying for a room for 2 nights (at ANY Barcelo resort). Obviously if you book at Barcelo Maya Beach, this option is quite a bit cheaper...around $300ish. So we are going with that option...however, I know this room is "supposed to" be for the photographer to use (right?)...but how does the photographer know if you paid the fee or booked the room stay? Couldn't one of my family member use that room we paid for? My step-dad is recently unemployed and I'm worried about how he'll be able to get to my wedding on a strict budget...this would help him if I paid for two of his nights with this room...does that make sense? What did other people do with that room they booked for the outside vendor? Did their photographers want to use it? Let me know! Thanks girls! Also, if anyone wants more info on either the DJ or photographer let me know! I'm working with Xhail right now in finalizing plans...including the dinner options, cake options, timing of events etc. She's been helpful, but yes, she takes awhile to answer your emails! So I have a lot of other information I can share if someone would like it! Chels
Hey! Would u mind private messaging me the details about the outside dj and costs etc. when is your wedding???
  5. I am looking for some help.

we are making welcome bags- and want to include a welcome book. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me their templates or what they have included in the books???

Also- we are looking to now get a videographer....any suggestions or ideas? we are thinking of using the ones on the resort so we can get away from spending the extra vendor fees...

we are getting married on July 5th... :)

  6. Has anyone had a problem with receiving communication after sending your deposit?

It has been 2 weeks since I have sent my deposit and I have been trying to contact them (Martina) to confirm their services and I am not receiving a reply. I am starting to feel as if I was scammed. This does not make sense though- based on all of the reviews and all the research that I did...

    Please help!

  7. I am getting married at the palace on july 5th. I was wondering if there were any words of advice.

I have planned most of the wedding (just finished the flowers) and am currently looking for an outside photographer and videography. I love all the recommendations on here so thanks!

As for the resort, we have been there 2 times before and love it. We are really excited...the only hick up right now...for those planning weddings...tell guests to book rooms asap! We are 2 and a half months away and there are no rooms avaliable at the palace....

for OTT bags... we are really wanting to do this...but I was wondering what type of things past brides have put in them???

    :D
