  1. MC-Colonial....I found the same thing in waiting for judge schedule to open. I tried for a civil ceremony (for March 2014) & waited for a judge reply (via WC) since Jan.  We have since decided to marry at home (Canada) secretly then a symbolic one in MC. We immediately got booked and we were off & running. It took a bit of convincing the FI but the symbolic ceremony can mimic a civil one so closely that nobody will know & it will still feel. The marriage at home is just a formality, sign papers & done. No kiss or rings. Best decision thus far... besides the man, of course! lol
Hi SammyAnna! I finally had my confirmation from the civil judge last week for April 2 2014!!! I was so excited!! My travel agent is now looking for quotes! I hope it won't be too pricey... :S You're lucky to have yours at 1682... I hope mine will be around that price!

  3. That is so sweet that you guys are getting married at the same resort you got engaged at! My fiance and I are actually going to do a site inspection in June. Recently I have been reading up on the Jellyfish restaurant and there have been nothing but wonderful reviews!  While we are there we are going to check it out, but it seems to be the better choice as far as getting the best bang for my buck. I guess I will see it and compare in two months.
Yes the Jellyfish restaurant seems very popular for weddings. I hope your site visits will go great! Keep us posted when you make your decision! ;-)
  4. That's wonderful! I wrote to him from his contact us portion of his website but still have not heard back from him yet. Which way did you contact him? I was also wondering which resort are you guys getting married at? Right now we are between the Paradisus Palma Real or Hard rock Punta Cana.
Yes I also made the first contact trough his contact us on his website, it took a few days before I heard from him, I think he has a really busy schedule but I'm shure you will hear from him soon! We are getting married at the Majestic Colonial. We got engaged there last year and wanted to get married at the same resort! On top of that, Micheal is staying at this resort when he's in Punta Cana so we are going to save all the fees for an outside photographer! :) Have you gone to either one of your two choices? They seem both like really beautiful resorts!
  5. I was just trying to get some information About his pricing and availability. My tentative date is May 2014, Do you guys have a exact date yet? And have you spoke to him about pricing?
Hi! Yes our date is April 2 2014. I spoke with him and he is 2600$ for the entire day (12 hours) + 2 hours trash the dress session on another day and he gives you a tone of edited photos (around 800).
  6. thanks melissa I live in Maryland .. and we are getting married in june of 14... so I guess I have some time :smile43: just seems like wating to the last min for things is the norm with destination wedding.  so use to taking care of  everything in advance now I must play the wating game
Hi, I also want a civil ceremony at the Majestic Colonial April 2014. I've made a request for the civil judge 3 months ago but still no confirmation from him... Did you have your date confirm by him yet? I'm also used to do everything in advanced so it's really stressful to wait that long for his confirmation!
  7. Hi ladies! I just read all the comments on this thread and I feel so much better! We're getting married April 2014 and we want a civil ceremony, but I've made the request 3 months ago and the judge in Punta Cana is not able to confirm our date yet... I am so stressful because I wanted to go ahead with my invitations a year before our wedding so the clock is ticking! Since last week, a few people told me about the symbolic wedding because it's less complicated and since there's one judge to do all the civil weddings in Punta Cana you have to be very flexible with your date, which I'm not! We were so torn between a civil and a symbolic wedding especially concerning our guests reaction of "not being official" there... it's very nice to see that I'm not alone feeling like this! And by any chance if someone is getting "legally" married in 2014, can you let me know if you had some news from the civil judge!?? Thank you!!

  8. Ya I managed to get mine for 1475 which is still more than I wanted people to pay but a lot lower than the other quotes I had received. The only problem with early march is that is when march break is for the public schools. Good luck and I hope you get your family to help find lower prices.
Wow this is a good price! I've never seen it that low for the Majestic Colonial. Can I ask you from where are you departing and with which airline company are you booking?
  9. Did you ask your wc? I wonder if they would know. I'm only doing a symbolic ceremony. I feel like they should have at least replied back by now.
Yes I'm constently in contact with my WC but she says that the civil judge will open his 2014 agenda "soon"... that's since the beginning of January... I can't wait to have it all confirm! :)
  10. McColonial I'm getting married in Punta Cana  March 2014. I will let you know a lot of us Punta Cana brides are doing the symbolic ceremony as there is only one judge in the area performing ceremonies for all of the resorts in that area. Symbolic was just easier and the ceremony time is guaranteed. Having a civil ceremony requires you to be flexible on your ceremony time as it depends on when the judge is available.
Oh no!! Fingers crossed that he will be available for the time I requested.... cause we really want to make it official/legal there instead of having to do it before going... thanks for the info!
  11. Hi ladies! I'm having a destination wedding at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana in April 2014! I have a question for all of the brides that are having a civil ceremony in Punta Cana in 2014.. Is anyone got a confirmation from the civil judge ?? I've made the request since the beginning of January and still no news from the judge! I'm getting really anxious since I'm waiting for that to start my invitations! Is someone elses in the same situation??
