Hi everyone!
We were Married on Thursday Aug 8/13 at the Ocean Turquesa.
Cynthia was our planner and she was fantastic. We exchanged a few emails prior, but really unless you have very specific changes they work it all out so quickly.
The resort is lovely, it was never too crowded, the standard rooms are great. We were upgraded to a suite and it worked well for myself and my 3 daughters to get ready in.
We chose the Paradise package. We opted for the Terrace ceremony and dinner.
Cynthia was super easy to work with, everything I asked was no problem. It is very hot in August and we had planned for a 4pm wedding, but she suggested we could move it to 5pm no problem.
I brought fans for the chairs, menus, shell place cards, napkins for cocktail hour, battery candles.
We met with Cynthia on Monday (we arrived Sunday) she went over our choices and arranged for blood test on Wednesday (easy...the nurse took us to the clinic and we were done in 10 minutes and he was very pleasant and spoke perfect English)
She booked my hair and makeup for 2pm on Thursday. I was in the pool until 12 then showered, no stress at all! The Ladies in the salon are nice. They have a file full of pictures and I picked one and it turned out fantastic, make-up was also great in and out in les than an hour.
Cynthia brought our flowers to the room and took us by golf cart to the lobby.
I had an ipod with all the music on it and they played it perfectly. The ceremony was lovely.
We had the resort photographers and chose the bronze package as we new there would be many cameras, They were great as you can see from the photos.
After the ceremony we had champagne and then hit the beach for some pictures.
We just finished our pictures when it started to rain. I was really upset that we wouldn't be able to do cocktail hour or dinner outside, but Cynthia really went all out to move our cocktail hour inside the lobby and decorate a Ball Room for our dinner.
We had cocktails in the lobby with appetizers. We hired a Marriachi Band thru Cynthia and it was great!
Dinner was fantastic the meal (surf/turf|) was better than I ever expected!
We danced for 2 hours then moved outside to the pool bar where there is nightly dancing!
I would not hesitate to tell anyone how stress free it can be and the backdrop of the Ocean and Palm trees is priceless
I will post pictures of the cocktail hour and dinner set up in a few days.
If you have any specific questions email me [email protected]

From what I understand from Anna it is 10 per person for the bar. We are doing this and also adding the hors doerves. We are doing the Mexican which is 17 per person. We have 29 guests. Our wedding is at 4 and cocktails from 530 to 630. Wewill have a marriachi band at cocktail hour. Thn dinner from 630 to 930.What is everyone's take on the cocktail hour? Do you pay extra for it? Do you send your guests to a certain place to hang out for free? We're getting married at 3 but want to put the reception off until at least 6 but don't want our guests bored in between. The cocktail hour seems a bit pricing for what it is. Help! -

Here is my dress. It is a Sophia Tolli in Cappuccino. I am older and this is a second marriage so I wanted something a little more understated. It is chiffon, corset back, floor length.

Have a great trip and cant wait to hear and see pics from your special day!

Eight weeks to go!
Downloaded more music last nite, I'm finding that to be the biggest challenge.
Have all the goodies for the welcome bags.
Just have to print the room lists and menus.
Can wait!

We have booked the resort photographer. Hoping it works out, we purchased the 30 pic package. Its the smallest one as some of our guest are bringing their cameras.
Its not my first wedding so I don't really need all the getting ready stuff, just so we have a few pictures of the ceremony and then with our children and guests and Mariachi band..

Thanks for all your help

You wedding sounds like it was perfect.
Could you email pictures of the reception, ours is also on the Lobby Terrace on August 8th. [email protected]
I also have too much stuff, but I couldn't help myself!
We have gift bags and we will give out on the first nite (Ana arranged tables at the buffet for the 30 of us)

We decided to do the Mexican cocktail hour, 10 for drinks and 17 for food per person, is a lot, but our wedding is at 4 and we are starting the cocktail hour at 5:30, dinner at 6:30 to 9:30, we are also having the mariachi band play us in to the cocktail hour, When in Mexico...

Hi Nancy, What a small world! I will forsure have a review when i return. So far I will give you what we have decided on. We went with the paradise package, I really wanted a more private reception and there will be 33 of us going. We selected the lobby Terrace as our ceremony and reception location. If the beach was completly private I would have done the ceremony there. I booked Sascha Gluck as my photographer. I have heard great things about him through a few brides in these threads and love his work. So far i don't intend to bring too much down with me. We are staying an extra week so i already will have to bring enough stuff for two weeks, plus my dress. I am hoping i will be able to get a few little touches in town or see what the resort can add. It sounds like they do a few little extras that most people don't expect. Good luck with all your planning! We also went with paradise. We have 30 people. And also hose the terrace for ceremony and reception. Can't wait to hear about your day. Nancy
