Hi, congratulations and welcome, what part of Portugal are you from? My mother lives there in the Algarve :) I love high shoes too but my partner is short lol and plus with the sand I have just got a small/mid heel.

  3. Hi, If you don't mind me asking is the poolside reception a lot? My fiance is keen on arranging something like that but the whole purpose for us to do our wedding away was to save money. We are only a group of 20 and I thought we could probably just find one of the bars/nightclubs we liked to go to afterwards and have drink on our all inclusive. We will actually probably see you as we get married on the 9th. We leave on the 16th but obviously you'll be there before. lol x
Hi we are having a poolside reception but wanted to keep costs down as we are having a reception at home too, there are 21 adults and 4 children in our group and we are having the basic bar package and bringing our ipods and using the speakers/mic and eugenia has quoted us $720 for 3 hours
  4. Exlcuding money needed for wedding payments we will take £1000 GBP.

A day trip to Play del Carmen is fun

Coco Bongos - there is one in Playa Del Carman and it is just as good as Cancun with the bonus of being closer to the hotel :)

The guys may want to go to Cancun and drive the speedboats James Bond style through the mangroves, its 2 people to each boat with a guide then you go snorkelling on the reef.  Its a brilliant trip and we all laughed so much.

Drive your own speed boat for 45 minutes through the mangrove channel  to the world's 2nd largest reef. Watch for wildlife along the way, birds, and of course do a bit of sightseeing while experiencing the freedom of your speedboat.

At the reef, enjoy the wonder of snorkeling with beautiful tropical fish for about 45 minutes. Then hop back in your speedboat for a zippy ride back through the mangroves to the marina.   http://www.cancun-discounts.com/cancun-jungle-tour.htm

    Enjoy your planning.

Thankyou for all the info I will look into the places you have mentioned :)
  5. A year ago we went to Xcaret with my 6 month old and 10 year old.  The 6 month old didn't see much.. hahah but it was fun.  It's like a zoo/beach/recreational park at the same time.  We really enjoyed it.  If you feel at all adventurous you can go by collectivo instead of taking the whole tour.  We liked the fact that we could come back whenever we wanted which was around 3 pm.  We also bought our tickets in advance from their website and it was something like 10% cheaper. We also went to playa del carmen via collectivo, had a great day, walked up to Cafe Celine and had a lemonade.  Everyone is so nice with kids!  It was refreshing!
    Thankyou
  6. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee   after trying for the last hour and being on hold for so long I have been able to get through to and talk with Eugenia - godness knows what the phone bill will be like as calling from Scotland. I feel much more relaxed and this information she gave me will help and hopefully make both you ladies relax too. . . . .   The Bahia are continually putting brides mind at ease regarding the confusion Travel Agents cause by giving FALSE information regarding having to get birth and divorce documents translated and legalised. There is NO requirement for any of the groom's documents to be translated or legalised this applies whether he HAS or HAS NOT  been married before. If the bride has been married before and has reverted back to her maiden name, provided this is the name she travels on and is the name that is on her passport again there is NO requirement for any of the bride's documents to be translated or legalised The only time translation and legalistion is required is when a bride has divorced but kept her married name (Ive never heard of anyone doing this) Hope you breathe the sigh of relief that I did. Thats great you got the correct info

  8. Hi Tammy, I got ahold of them in the end. We got our menus too. Was it you who said that you are having the reception at frutos del mar? We just weren't clear if we had to pick the meal or if our guests can just from the menu we got once we select the restaurant. Let me know if you know.x
Yes we are having the meal at frutos del mar and Eugenia sent the menu and told us to select one starter one soup one main and one desert and let her know before we arrive
  9. Hi,

Our wedding is on 9th May so a bit before yours I think. I'm glad to hear that you don't need translation. Was just a bit worried as have had some issues with FC. Have you heard back from your WC? Ours is Eugenia and still nothing - am very annoyed to be honest. I know that they have a lot of weddings etc but it is very close

We have Eugenia too it took a couple of months for her to reply with a wedding time, then we emailed to sort the restaurant, menu and about a pool side reception and she replied in days but it has now been a couple of weeks with no reply, have you not had any contact with her?
  10. Hi Tammy We are in Scotland and both are divorced, due to get married on 20 June this year.  I have had a nightmare about getting info about this I have continually asked Eugina about this as First Choice told us we DID need to get all our documents translated and legalised however when Eugina has replied she has sent me different details about this so I am still no futher forward. I believe if the Bride or Groom have NOT been married before there is no need for translation.     Even more money for us divorcee's!!
Hi I have just had a look through our paperwork and found this, If either party is divorced: Decree absolute (must carry the court stamp.) If the bride/groom is divorced and kept maiden then a decree absolute must be taken to Mexico, but does not need to be transalted or legalised. If the bride/groom is divorced and kept married name, then the decree absolute and full birth certicate must be taken to mexico and will need to be legalised and translated in the uk prior to departure. Hope this helps
